Quote:if i can get out of work friday we will do a good old glenmaggie ride, if not we will go for a blast when i get there….sometime between 4 and 6.saturday will be the epic walhalla adventure.
it WILL NOT be for the faint hearted.
it includes the ridge decent of DEATH!
the snaking river single from HELL!
and 2 big arse crossings of the Thomson River.
there will be the standard glenmaggie erosion jumpsi want everyone to prepare their bikes and themselves for anything we could possibly break, snap, kill, puncture, wound, maim or destroy
we will be doing this ride come hell or high weather
i dont care if it snows   we’re still doing it!i want everyone to carry a tube and a spark plug…..please
WE WILL NEED ENOUGH FUEL FOR 120KM++
so bring a 2lt coke bottle or the like….for fuel.
and make sure you fuel up on the way as we will be on the bikes at 8.30AM at the latest.
if anyones needs directions, ring me or PM me
i have done this ride a few times and have had 2 different riders “destroy themselves to the point of meltdown status”…..
one where we were thinking of calling the chopper :dry:so please, if your coming, bring your balls with you
it will be epic dudes
sunday will be rest day. if its nice weather we might get the boat out for a ski….(i wonder how my spine will go with that now)
and then a blast in the evening…..
WTF!!!….Are you saying I should stay home?
You know about my sh!t riding!

October 21, 2010 at 7:38 am #189288I’m thinking the same myself after my effort at Wombat the other week I don’t like my chances. My balls are still coming out of hiding. Don’t know if RAVC gob will be there to push me out of the shit when I get into it.
October 21, 2010 at 8:30 am #189301im not telling anybody not to come
im saying bring your balls.
just dont roll up expecting a walk in the park/firetrail ride.
it will be toughthere may be sections where we are dragging ALL the bikes up out of creeks, depending on the weather.
lets just say, its all about time. we must get to the pub by 1pm. thats 4 hours riding.
it is do-able if it goes smooth….its only 70km.
but compared to a normal OBTV ride there is a higher than normal chance of…
punctures, drowned bikes, broken bikes, physical exhaustion and injuries. it is rugged country.if a couple of the abovementioned problems arise, we will miss the pub.
it will have parts like wombat last ride Smurf.
if you guys arent feeling up to it, you can ride dirt roads and bitumin to the pub. its a lovely scenic trip to a beautiful town.
it is my favourite ride.
sorry its so poorly planned but im so flat out with work and shit im all over the shop :S
and i didnt know it was cup weekend :blush:October 21, 2010 at 9:35 am #189305i’m still keen!
i think i’ll carry a spare UHD tube this time. or even 2…
i now have 2 pairs of tyre levers. and a decent pump.. spare plug, may pick up a second one… new sintered bendix pads… new brake fluid… new rear tyre will go on the rear..
what other essentials will be needed??
