    Hey Folks

Looking for some advice on bar risers. Did a quick search and came up with nothin so hopefully not a question asked on a weekly basis.

I’m guessing all risers will do much the job – but wondered if any brand (or style?) are a stand out??

Due to my stupid long legs, I find it uncomfortable and super unbalanced standing on the pegs. I’m thinking 60mm risers at this stage – see photo.

    cheers

If you are really tall Irish, maybe a set of fat bar adaptors with a set of Travis Pastrana ATV bend bars would be good, that’s what Chicken has and he is a big tall unit

Mal at Sutto’s could do you deal and send them to you quick smart I reckon, or I could pick them up and give the to Kylie at Louee for you

    Hey Irish

Before you look at risers are you happy with the rise and sweep on your bar because if you put a rise under a bar that does not suit you, you will not have solved the problem.

Thanks for the offer TB – I’m not in any hurry because the road is calling at present…. fast approaching time for the annual migration south to the sacred island.

I was thinking of risers first because the sweep doesn’t feel bad – but being my first dirtbike in so long I’ve no real reference.

I’ve go protaper bars which feel good – but they just need a lift.

I’ll check out Suttos – now that takes me back!

Yes, Chicken is probably as tall as Irish.

I want the Travis Pastrana bars with a set of risers for the DR. I have no idea if they are any good or not but the name says it all.

We are lucky that Irish started this post under Product Reviews because if it was in tech help we would be in trouble from Admin now.

No amd yes, I bought a really good bar riser bracket, lifted the bars about 40mm, perfect.
It even came with an MSC steering damper which helped a lot too.

    $845 though :S

    Irish,

Had a bit of a look and 25mm seems to be the max for bar raisers.

To get close to what your after you’ll need to get a higher bend bar as well.

Can’t tell from the pic but if its a standard bar try the Jimmy Button Renthals, they are a tall bend. Have tried them with raisers and was a good height.

If you go to Renthals website they have all the bar specs / sizes and you should be able to work out the new height.

    cheers

Ive got 20mm risers with the pastrana fmx high bend on my ktm it feels about right, although the bars are narrow and it takes a little getting used to. I’m 185cm, 6 foot 1

The bling queen’s shopping list has started.

Let me guess Kylie, Little D 1 gets as set of bars for Xmas and little D 2 gets the risers? They can do a re-gift as they have no use for bars and risers and your problem is solved. :P

That’s pretty handy until the little Ds get old enough to know they are not toys.

Dusty (my cat) wants a new exhaust system for Xmas, I think he’s dream’n!
