July 27, 2009 at 10:51 am #145443I think I have the battery fighter junior as well. Works, I think.
As for dirt bikes and leccy legs…well, when your kickstarter is backwards, you learn to luuurve the magic button@!!!

Old school dinosaurs have kickstarters. When was the last time you crank started a car. The new Husabergs are arguably the trickest bike around at the moment and oh look, no kickstarter. Welcome to the future.
Back on topic, has anyone tried one of the gell cell batteries?

AnonymousAs a kind of side issue along the smae topic, how often to you guys charge your battery?
I ask beacuse I see peopel saying they get home from a ride and plug there bike in to the charger and have all these plugs in place to allow them to charge quickly.
The battery has died on my bike once when I was cranking the hell out of it on the button (it didn’t start because I had left a rag in the airbox :blush:). Then I just kick the kick starter over, it fired into life and I’ve never had an issue since.
Also when I didn’t ride it for 2 months after busting my thum it started first time.
I am well aware that batteries die, and to keep them in top condition they should be properly ‘cycled’ but who do so many people seem to have to charge them all the time?
July 27, 2009 at 9:50 pm #145484Moto according to the who-wha on the instructions of the ducks guts charger I have just got for my bike(first time in 9 years I have bought a charger for the bike)the thing does micro cycles of charging, discharging and fluxing the battery, this is in turn supposed to stop sulphication(is that the word) of the said battery thus prolonging lifespan, I had a battery problem recently and the suss battery is now fine , and there are plugs that plug into it permanently , I will wait and see how long the suss battery lasts

AnonymousI had a charger in the UK that used to cycle batteries, you could even select the typre of cycle in ran through.
I still don’t understand why so many riders seem to be repeatidly charging their batteries. From the reports I’ve read it’s never been for conditioning, but to keep them charged for a ride.
July 28, 2009 at 12:47 pm #145365hi that would be ok if it has a auto cut out? so it doesnt over heat/charge it .ctek do a great charger for fully sealed battery like yours best way just keep a eye on it and make sure it doesnt get hot
September 12, 2009 at 11:00 pm #145616Could anyone confirm that the C-tek 800m/a listed above is the one in the link below? I’m guessing that the m/a should be mA being milliamps because the ctek site doesn’t seem to have an 800m/a model.

Cheers.
September 12, 2009 at 11:12 pm #152349yep that one would do the trick nicely
0.8 amp =800 milliampsOllie
