Looking into Helmet/Bike Camera
Any Ideas
Looking at Go pro wide angle 5mp seems a bit bulky for the top of your hemet though?
I’m only 4 ft off the ground and i seem to be always ducking my head ,
could be an expensive $300 the way I ride at times
do they get as good footage when mounted on handlebars or somewhere a bit lowerhave read the review that people listed 12 months ago
any more opinions or developments

October 5, 2009 at 6:13 am #155275Hey Bob,
you would have seen the GoPro i had mounted on my helmet at the snow ride and the quality of the picture it takes. I’m 6’2″ and hav’nt had a problem with ducking under things yet. The only issue i had was one day a small branch got hooked up on it and almost pulled me off the bike. Only going slow though (my normal pace   )
There was a thread a few weeks ago that mentioned about upgrading the existing 2mg card to a 4mg card for about one hour of record time.
Also the camera does’nt have to be on top but with the attachment to put it on the side of the helmet adds extra joins which i think makes it more vulnerable.
October 5, 2009 at 6:17 am #155283what happened to the sound on your camera JAK, the dvd you made of the snow ride was good but the sound wasnt

Maybe someone knows a way to fix this ?
October 5, 2009 at 8:31 am #155268Hey There I just bought a helmet cam from Aldi supermarket for $149.00 although in addition to this i needed to buy a 2 gig sd card for $8.00. i havent taken it out on the bike as yet but playing around with it at home it is fantastic . plugs direct into the tv to play or directly into the pc, takes two AA battries and is about the size of a toilet roll core, comes with heaps of straps and attachmenents for helmets or handle bars etc etc. regards Steve
October 5, 2009 at 8:41 am #155292Keep us posted on how it goes

Cheers SteveOctober 5, 2009 at 9:55 am #155300I run my gopro upside down under my V3 visor and find that its great there. Judging by the way the V3 parachutes at speed I’d say the visor sits higher than most helmets though. I’ve got a pic on my camera I’ll just have to find the memory card reader and I’ll post.

The first version,I have the newer version which is better but I still dont think it is as good as the Go pro or Helcam pencil camera. Good price though
