I’ve been toying around with getting a trailer for a long time and I’m not in a rush since I have a ute (- its just a pita to load )and there’s a few I’m looking at on ebay but I don’t want to post them up and draw attention to them because I’ll probably end up competing against some lurker :p
This one looked pretty good but I was being tight hoping to get it for $650 which was the opening bid.

There was also this enclosed one but it looked a little ratty so I was going to go out and inspect it but couldn’t get there until after it finished and it sold.
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=110477579091I know I can probably buy a decent one for $900 new but I’m not keen to spend that much on a bike trailer unless it’s enclosed.

AnonymousMy trailer will be coming up for sale in the near future. Its not new but it easily fits three bikes on it and it is built solid. It is just a little bit too wide for behind the Subaru. I am going to build a new one that has the same track width as the Sube.
Watch out for some of the ebay specials – they look good, but when you actually see one in the flesh they are crap.
January 18, 2010 at 4:40 am #168521Yeah that’s what I’m wary of
I’m not too keen on anything too big either because I’m in a townhouse and my garage isn’t enormous by any means.
It’d be sitting where my bikes are in the pic below so I’m guessing that with the ute in the garage it’ll have to reverse over the drawbar.
January 18, 2010 at 4:54 am #168522Honestly AB I reckon one of those two bike fold up jobs are the go for you. I will find the link for you tonight mate
Every trailer I have seen of e bay (new that is) has been shit and required work to make it half decent they are junk like Dan said.

January 18, 2010 at 5:27 am #168515these TB?

the wheels, axel and hubs on these look a little on the sad size for my liking.
speed rated/ limited? and a light frame /chassis. price seems a bit high,
how durable are they?
it looks like they rely on the 17mm form ply to beef up the rigidity /strength.
how good are the fold / hinge points? how are they locked into the ‘use’ position?

January 18, 2010 at 7:04 am #168535i went riding with a bloke on sunday that has an easy trailer.
it was shit.
tying down his bike, you should have seen the flexing it was doing.
good concept, but the frame was too thin walled. he only brought it as it folds in half and he has limited space.
it really freaked me out with its flexing though.
i dont reckon one would last 50km on a corrigated drt road
just keep your eyes peeled on ebay and the tradie. i scored my trailer for $800 from ebay. its shithot.
you will find a good one when it is meant to be Bluey
heres my trailer.
its strong as an ox and has room for 2 bikes (3 with the centre one backwards) and my jet ski slides right up the guts. 3 tool boxes and 2 jerry holders.
