    So i’ve got this KDX 200 right

    Im preparing for Rego so hopefully can ride it on 25th

    Problems ive had so far

    Chain comes off every two minutes. The front spocket had about 1/4 size teeth
    ( To the previous owner, Sprokets help the bike go :woohoo: )

    The cluth lever is held on with a cable tie
    ( To the previous owner, They cost all of $10 to replace…You probably spent more on the packet of cable ties :S )

    The front sprocket gaurd was missing along with the heads of the bolts, The rest of the bolt is stuck in the casing, 4 hours, 10 drill bits and a couple of easy outs and have one out! Oh and he has cracked the casing as well
    ( To the previous Owner, You should not have, nor should you ever again own a motorcycle)

    This man was a licenced Motorcycle mechanic out of work…..( To the previous owner….I wonder Why?:silly: :ohmy: :huh: :angry:

    Pretty shocking for a mechanic. So you will be taking the KDX out on Saturday then if all goes well. I don’t think I’ve seen a Green machine in the bush before….

    If all goes to plan ill have both bikes there 😆

    I’ll ride the TTR in the Morning and the KDX in the afternoon as well as on sunday.

    BTW did you get yourself a lift for Saturday? I may be able to help if your really stuck.

    It’s okay mate, I’m gonna ride out with a mate. TB was going to give me a lift but I’ll hardcore it. Get in some fast riding before sitting sweep for the day, I can only ride fast down the road :p Cheers for the offer though :)

    I would like to have 2 bikes to take up there. My KTM and the 09 Husaberg. Now that would be sweet!

    Out the bush middle of nowhere..
    Tripper…My bike just made a funny sqealing noise,but it isn’t doing it now.
    XR600..BRaaaaaap Brraaaap off into the distance in a trail of smoke.
    Mick….Hmmm wonder what that was,jeez she is throwing some smoke.Shit he is riding it hard,he is flying.

    Back at home…..A week later.
    XR600…Thump thump thump (nice XR idle) screech,grind,screech.
    Mick….Better shut it down,sounds like the top end is running dry.
    Tripper…Oh
    Mick…Best drop the oil and see what is going on.
    Tripper…Where do you drop the oil?
    Mick…The bolt behind the gear stick.
    Tripper…What size spanner do I use?
    Mick…Fark me, have a look you idiot!!
    Tripper…looks like 14mm
    Mick….Right, but use a socket
    Tripper…..Ha dick head,you are wrong,it isn’t the drain plug,no oil is coming out.
    Mick….Yes it is and what do you mean there is no oil coming out???????!!!!!!
    Tripper….None.
    Mick….Dickhead, when was the last time you checked the oil?
    Tripper..I haven’t, you checked it when I bought it.

    Tripper…you are the mechanic!!!
    Mick..since when?
    Tripper.. Since I left it in your shed.
    Mick…OK,just put fresh oil in it and see what happens.
    Tripper…You got any oil?
    Mick..Shit mate,how you off for socks and undies?Yeah there is a drum of oil there.

    Ten minutes later XR600 starts first kick.
    XR600..Thump thump thump, (nice idle).tic tic tic tic tic tic tic tic tic tic
    Tripper..Whats that tic tic noise?
    Mick…your stupidity.A farked top end.
    Tripper..How are you gunna fix that??
    Mick..I’m not, you are.

    3 weeks later the bike is still there untouched so I can’t see the famous CATXR at the Xmas Party.

    I thought you said it went alright Mick after filling it back up with oil? Obviously you meant it actually works….albeit not very well :p

    Moto in my experience it is actually more common than not for a mechanic to have the worst maintained machinery, my best mate runs a multi-million dollar operation looking afetr a fleet of vehicles, yet still i have to fix his head gasket on his XR500 so he can go riding with us, and don’t even ask about his 1958 dodge Ram, Katana 1100 or GSXR11 either, projects waiting to happen………………eventually.

    Hey Bruce, nice to see you back :) I was going to add that maybe it’s a case of not bothering to do what you are good at. I know an accountant who pays another guy to do his accounts. WTF!! I guess when you do it all day….

    Have been having carburettor issues (I hope) as well, I set the idle, it runs beaut then in the middle of a ride it will stop dead on no throttle which makes tricky corners on off camber hills and pivot turns in gullies a real treat, then when i get home it runs fine again for a while, intermitent problems can be a nightmare, I’ve changed reeds (Vforce3s) reset float, checked needle & seat, cleaned tank, blown carby out, changed plugs ad-naseum, still does it every so often.
    But i s’pose you could say it gets a bit of abuse ie: the new Dunlop D756 lasted 2 rides (198 klms) before the knobs cried “enough”, and looked balder than my dome, so I replaced it with a D952, which is supposed to offer similar levels of grip with better longevity.

    Hmm, thought you may say something like that.

    I am not as this stage of my life 5-6 hours hardcore…..

    I know the sort of riding…I think and i would last two maybe three hours in it

    Maybe ill make my own brethren “The two minute wonders brethren” any takers
