Why the corner man system and sweep riders are so important.

Yesterday i went for my 1st ride with some local Rockhampton blokes up here and i just went with the flow and did as they did i was getting some footage of the guys cruising through some pretty open and grade 1 stuff when i thought i would stop to catch the next guys come through and pulled over in a safe spot, The next bloke was ages back so i just waited until i could hear him coming but the problem was i heard a bike from each direction coming and old mate heading back to find his mate did not even pull up where i was to ask if i could hear him and kept riding past. Then bang a slow head on resulting in a cracked front guard broken brake lever and a bit of bark off 1 of the blokes. I think next time we head out i will try and explain the cornerman system to them to stop this happening again as it may not end so well next time!!

Corner man and sweep is the best idea for every ones safety.

Its going great guns but Thats after my pit crew did a fair bit of adjustments around the bike. I probably should have just bought an 11 six days but who knows i may do that yet!

WOW! That could’ve been a whole lot worse. Maybe need to educate them a bit Nato. Sometimes you have to go back looking for slower or fallen riders. But you do it very slowly and cautiously staying off the main riding line. Very lucky guys.

Sweet looking track Nato but could do with arrow system around that natural motorcross track. Looks like blokes going everwhere. :ohmy:

Wow, that was painful just watching your vid Nato , they were going nice and slow except for the 2nd guy who was all racey! Just as well you didn’t foul a plug behind them.

As for the crash , it looks like the guy going back jumped before the corner and didn’t have time to avoid the other guy.

Your footage looks good Nato and you keep the camera nice and stable. Have you been playing around with settings since we last spoke? There is a lot to experiment with on the new HD GoPros. Best thing I have done recently was buy an iMac. It handles those big files easily and in the new iMovie it will edit everything straight out of the camera so no need to use any file conversion or compression. Every conversion you can avoid the better your footage will remain. YouTube will always use their own compression but you can upload directly out of iMovie so it preserves as close to original as possible. It will also load 1080p straight up to YouTube if you choose and if have an internet connection quick enough to actually watch it.
Now I just need a heap of new footage and I will lock myself to my iMac and stock the fridge full of home brew :woohoo:
