Here is a start on the RR for my mid week ride.

    Wild Wednesday Ride

Medogrocket (570 Berg), Live4daride (WR250) and I fronted for a Wild Wednesday session at Sunny Corner. The lads backed up from the Mad Monday ride the week before, so they must have enjoyed the ride or were infected with the madness during the ride.
We made a beeline for a sweet new ST in the naturals that I found and rode it a few times to give it a clearer line. L4DR managed to tweak a foot jumping a log crossing but didn’t mention it till an hour later. He is one tough bugger for a Yammie rider.

Red Belly Hill was next on the list but this time we went up the bugger. No dramas’ getting through the creek as it is very low. L4DR revved up the mighty 250 and headed for the summit, with legs flailing out the back while the front wheel barely touched the loose rocky terrain he hit the ¾ mark. A skillful restart, with nice clutch and throttle control saw him join the list of Red Belly Run members.
Medog took in all the action from the bottom and set off with a measured approach i.e.: a girls run. Hitting the halfway mark it proved unsuccessful. From my vantage spot half way up, it looked as though Medog grabbed at his groin area, as if he was checking for something, and with a nod of the head he was away. The next run was full of gusto and befitting of the ex-racer he is, with the big 570 torquing its way up the slope with ease.

Thanks again Galey for showing off some fantastic trails :woohoo:

Once again, it was a good challenge to have a go at obstacles that previously i would follow the well worn detours. Whilst ‘resting’ ;) on red belly hill, I observed Galey feet up, cruising up, using my bike as a mobile chicane.
As Galey metioned, I first tweaked my foot as the bike pivoted over a log and didnt quite go in the direction I was planning  , as the day rolled on, it became more uncomfortable to use the rear brake.
Whilst cruising on some well cut-in trails through the gum trees, up to the lookout that hangliders use, I let out a loud “F%$#!!” and instantly felt
Once some sensation came back to my foot, it felt an inch shorter than it should be. A minute later, pins and needles, but could wiggle my toes :) , so off we continued, me a little more cautious of stumps in the grass.

We finished off the day doing a loop through Loam City, with MDR and Galey having a good thumper-nats style dash roaring up the hill full bore, hair pin, sailing back down ,roosting another hair pin, then roaring up approaching the next hair pin passing to my side as I am still rounding the first mentioned hair pin.

Once Ive stopped hobbling around, I’m looking forward to practicing log hopping and a few more vertical hill climbs and be ready for the next Mad n Wild Ride 👿

MartyMonster and I rode it with a mate weeks ago. L4DR got to the pine tree on the right where the other rider is hiding from the big 450’s, then restarted nicely. Medog didn’t get that far on his girls attempt.

Your a funny man Galey, heaps of fun for me getting back into the riding love the technical stuff, I must say though how funny it is that when ever you see a wood chip area you take off like a little kid in a ball pit and spin the KTM around in it, makes me laugh each time,

    whens the next ride

    Part 2
As we headed for Mt Ovens, we took the bikes for a dip in a shallow creek to wash off some dust then hit the sweet singles through the natural bush.

With L4DR’s foot becoming an issue we cut out a rough gnarly fire trail hill and ran the fire trail which was ample opportunity to open the bikes up and cool off the riders.

The view from Mt Ovens is always a good one, as you look down upon Bathurst and its surrounding districts; with people going about their day, whilst we were out roosting the forest.

The course was set to head for base camp with more flowing natural singles giving way to sandy pine singles which were dispatched in short order with the as good as ever A4DE singles utilised to practice ones special test riding ability or lack of.

Medog ran this in the 4D so he led out and set a cracking pace for L4DR and I to follow. Dust from the big 570 kept L4DR back as he is still coming to grips with riding singles and rode within his limits and pain factor.

The Prison Run was new to Medog, so he led out again, with me showing him the log stack option at the midpoint. L4DR was happy just to get through to the end of the day. A double set of log jumps had Medog excited especially as it has a step down immediately following.

Over to Loam Town for some WOT action or Thumper Nats style action as L4DR called it, with the 450 showing the fast lines to the 570. With sweet 3rd gear corners and some 4th gear straights it was on. It was at the mid-section where the 570 had the green light to get in front to find the way.
Medog had the red mist descend over his Scott goggles and I had my work cut out for me and the KTM just to stay with his 570 in the fast section. I had to physc him out by woohooing at him into a hairpin turn and diving down the inside to push him wide. Fearing his other knee would need a reco if he held the line; Medog checked up and watched the orange blur blow past and go way deep into the corner. This gave Medog his window for the next uphill blast and tickled the twist grip which saw a drag race between the motorcycle branded cousins. Both of us held it on where others would have shut off, the bikes bucked from the acceleration bumps and lifted front wheels, with my track knowledge coming through with Medog, uncertain as to what lay over the other side of the crest, buckled under the pressure, or the loam sandwich the 450 dished up to him.

Once at the end the smiles were enough to know it is a track well made.

Thanks L4DR for top ride. Hope the foot heals quickly.
Medog, as always, it is great witnessing your fine riding skills.

Ha Ha, nice write up, today is the first day i have been able to walk somewhat properly.
The end and inside edge of my big toe, top and bottom of the ball of my foot and behind the two toes next to the big one went all funny sorts of purple, and the heel had a good jarring also. :pinch:

Nothing broken though !! First world problems, so pulled out my stiffer THOR boots this arvo and heading out to Clarence late tomorrow arvo and tackling the technical stuff :cheer:

Looks like i’ll be busy at work for the next few weeks, so wont be able to get out during normal working hours to meet up with you Galey, but hopefully Dec/Jan we can tee something up again. Keen as to get up Red Belly Hill in one go, and that trickier than it looked rock step up and turn
