Did you guys sign the guidepost at the entrance to the broken bridge trail???? There must have been some water through there, that bridge was fine on our last cells ride!!! makes me wonder what condition the singles are in over there…

I didn’t see a guidepost. Anyhow, I used up my texta from tagging a train last week

That broken bridge looked like it had the most damage from all the creek crossings we saw

Thanks to Lotsa and the boys for a great ride.

Lotsa and Gav found some great tracks and hopefully can link them up into a ride for near future.
I really enjoyed the weekend and can’t wait to ride up in that country again, how lucky are you guys up that way to have this on your doorstep!!
Thanks to Lotsa and the guys for there help and great company on the weekend.

Thanks to Wayne for putting together this ride. Thanks to the other riders for there help , company, and sense of humour.
    Perhaps next ride for me.
My ride report goes something like….

We left Gloucester and the road kept getting better and better. I was sweeping but there was something not right, I was thinking perhaps I am over this adv riding caper, all this nice terrain , dirt roads and such, and I was struggling to keep up.

We grouped up at the Enfield range rd turnoff , chit chat and stuff, time for a leak etc.
    Then off into the scrub.
Quickly I realised i needed to go faster, no disrespect to the others, but I needed to let rip.
I rounded up the riders, and caught Wayne up in short order.

We careered through the ever changing terrain like demons possessed. Forest road turned into farmers paddock, and back to road again.
Waynes bike was ploughing through fresh cow shits, and they were like exploding into the air either side of his bike like a grenade explosion. I decided that this is the riding I like- and I am a shameless hoon, more of an adventure idiot than anything.

We bailed up to regroup and I was pumped, the others were quite close behind, and I was sweating profusely.
We departed after a round of red snakes, quick removal of jacket liner, and I was keen as hell.

No more than a couple of hundred meters further up the track there was an opportunity to get air, or at least bottom my suspension out real bad, so on the up ramp part, as I applied pressure to the pegs, bam -balls down onto the tank. Combined pain with with a out of control motorcycle gave me real concern for my safety.
By the time I stopped and parked, the other riders had all gone past me, crap.
I searched for my lost pivot peg, as these are prized trophies from my first OBT ride.

The peg took some looking I can tell you. But I prevailed.

I limped the bike on down the track one foot on peg and one off.
The thing is almost unrideable on dirt under these conditions. I nearly fell off twice before encountering Gav .
The gang offered help and solutions, and I thank them once again- here. The camaraderie between motorcyclists is what sets us apart.
I elected to limp back to Gloucester[140km on my odometer] and was helped by a short M8 bolt and a set of vice grips as footpeg.
Turned out there was alot of nice scenery I missed earlier!
The bike was rideable with a makeshift peg and I could even stand up if I was careful.
It was hot in Gloucester, I pushed on home, and cursed myself for not replacing that footpeg hangar after previously having it repaired in Omeo.
    Lesson learned

The Old Highway was the intended route but missed most of it and hit it where the track goes behind the armco on a sharp right hander. Becasue of time we went down Doyles River Rd. If we had taken the Old Highway we might have crossed that broken bridge creek easier. Knoddingbull was to be after Elands but lack of time, gave it a miss. Got home at 8pm as it was.

    Next time……..soon I hope
