I will do a short report now and add more later.riders for the day were – aido,menace,choppa,davo61,marty,tim,spiro and john.we met at 8.30 and after a detour due to a truck rollover and me missing the turnoff that ive been to a thousand times we got to the unloading area at wombat around 9.30.leading the ride was Tim who did a great job considering he only had 3 hourssleep and was still pissed when i picked him up  Conditions were unbelieveable after 3 days of rain, the ruts were full of water and the tracks were sublime.Tim pulled off the roost of the decade getting two guys at once, menace even has photos to prove it  highlight of the day would have to be a slippery steep downhill that most of us stacked on,mine probobly being the funniest as i was stuck under my bike slapping around like a fish out of water trying to get it off me.When you see the video you will notice no prick comes to help :) :) it was a fantastic day and i thank all the guys for joining me in my stomping ground once again.menace has video and photos which he will post up soon.

    Mud glorious Mud!!!!!

me and choppa headed off into the abyss of drizzle and dark skies saturday morning to hook up with Aido and the boys for a fang around wombat state forest. by the time we got to the servo to meet it was a constant light rain. Wicked, i thought. i love mud and wombat is as skatey as Jake the Peg on rollerblades

after detouring around 3000 dazed and confused runaway chickens   a truck had rolled..
and Aido’s WTF? moment at finding the turnoff?? it was very foggy and his sat nav was turned off?? :P we parked and kitted up.

the first track was as slimy as a month old banana. it took me all of 39 seconds to have my first moment, with both wheels slipping into a 3 inch rutt and voiding me of control for a loooong few seconds.

i was following choppa down the first slight hill and watching the back end of the big berger 570 near locking up from compression everytime he’d back off.

it soon appeared that roosting was the order of the day and everyone was in on it.
at the first smoko stop, i decided to take advantage of Tim’s feelings of unwellness and gave him a good dosing of mud. :P
its a rarity for Tim to cop roost as he is a cunning bugger and rarely puts himself in a position to receive one.
he was so hungover he didnt move. :S

on the trails again and the roosts continue. Tim has set up Spiro and Chop at a muddy corner and let loose. the video doesnt show it well but all i saw was mud flying and choppas “hypercolour” riding gear change to brown, it does that when it gets wet and muddy…apparently!

first vid…listen to me get closer to god at the 2.08 mark

    a slighty tarnished choppa

taking a new track, with some nice rolling hills that even a one legged dog could run up in the dry, soon turned out to be a recipe for carnage.
the first one little downhill that claimed a few was like ice, with a bog at the bottom and an easy climb out. as i went down my bike stalled and i stopped at the bog to restart it as fast as i could as i was as easy target
as i got going, in the corner of my eye, i see Dave sliding to a stop…on his side   i crossed the bog and nearly fell of my bike, in total stitches, knowing that dave, who never gets dirty, was covered in mud, from coming down the hill to try roosting me

dave picks up his bike only to have tim run into the back of him   , then marty takes a dive, followed by aido, who yes, did look like some kind of demented salmon as he thrashed about trying to free himself from the clutches of his yamaha :P
then John, the new fella, who hasnt ridden for years, on his dirty XR400 made it look easy…. well done mate, you kicked arse all day. ;)

with everybody getting through that little hurdle, the next hill was the opposite, with the down part pretty easy but the climb out was hard. there were a few little steps and momentum was the key. i was near the back so i didnt see how everyone else went. the kato was really struggling for grip and i eased up just with the chain chattering ;)
it got the better of poor marty and he just couldnt get any mojo happening. after a couple of goes he was shagged out. a few of us offered to ride it up for him but marty didnt want to do the walk of shame and pushed it up eventually, with a bit of help from the boys and all of us yelling instructions.

    carnage hill….

we took on some more tracks and made our way to the pub for a feed and watering and a well earned rest.
    13022010001.jpg

we took some different tracks on return with a few of us upping the wick some as it had dried up a tadand the fog had lifted. spiro the original bridge jumping legend extraordinaire and i were dicing it a bit and both roosted each other some beauties. i had some great ones with choppa too, nearly ending up under his back wheel during an attempted overtake.
there we some more prangs abound, with Aido riding up to me at one stage and saying, “choppas just hit a tree, he’s OK though, he gave me the thumbs up”…

when we got back to the cars, i wanted to do it all again :woohoo: , it was so much fun!!!

a roostfest of bogs that could swallow a bus and slimy muddy clay equals bloody champagne riding in my books :)

thanks to everyone for a collossal day ;)

Hey fellas, thanks for a great day out, despite the fact that, that bloody hill got the better of me.

Hey Menace, I heard you also happened to hit Davo with the pressure washer at the car wash. Cheeky bugger deserved it as he was trying to roost John and I all day!

Thanks again boys, and we look forward to the next ride day!

Hey Menace, I took your advice and bought a new s12 xc for the rear. (It’s probably not going to improve my riding but its worth a try……..)
