working on days off

once again iv been workn on my day off. wife in fiji havn a ball ,and iv had the kids on my own for the last 10 days, i need a break .how many of you guys get stuck workn on your days off ,iv told my boss im only going to work mon to fri once xmas is over because im going to enjoy our new bikes ,im going to wait for the bike show in nov. to try and strke a deal on several new 1s for misses kids and me ,boss thinks im joken .so im wondering how many of you work on your days off and how often does it happen to you on av

Never Wolfie , I emigrated from the uk 13 years ago and won’t work weekends etc. It’s not laziness just I want a life and if I worked on days off I may as well have stayed in London earning 4 times the money.
My rule is a 40 hour week max and ride at least 3 times a month :woohoo:

i havnt worked on a weekend in 15 years and i will never again.

that being said i do have to work on the occasional public holiday.

last few years iv been workn away doing 20 days on 10 off [bridge builder ] but i seem to draw the short straw and work my days off that why i sold my old bike .iv had enough and im not workn weekends any more after xmas ,i quit my old job as i was workn to much and my new job started of havn every 2nd weekend off and now im workn them, iv spoken to the wife and she has said quit after xmas as we will be debt free and enjoy some time off

i don t work on weekends unless i can not get out of it prably 5 saterdays a year i work 5 days a week becuase i canot afford to live on four days have worked with people that can live on 3 days good luck to them

white rocket i think i read somewere on here you live out at dubbo is that correct ? if so who do u work for if you dont mind me askn as i lived in dubbo for ages workn for frank cross tyres. we mite know each other?

I had gotten out of working weekends in the last few years after having had to work every weekend shift that came up just to be able to pay the bills when I got married. Now I am back to working weekends again as I have gotten into the construction industry, I will be working 10 days on and 4 off for the next couple of years if I stay with this project. The 10 days go from Tuesday through to the following Thursday which gives me a 4 day weekend (Fr, Sa Su, Mo) every second weekend. First 10 days starts tomorrow with an 8 hour induction, now there’s something to look forward to :whistle:
