As I am vertically challenged I feel the need to try and lower my WR, mainly to get some stability back when going slow and putting my feet down.

I have been doing some reading about shaving some foam off the seat or putting in a lowering link, like Yamalink.

Does any one have any ideas who may have done this before? Or any one out there who might have a seat they want to sell so I can have a go at cutting it down?

I am worried about playing around with the suspension by adding int the link.

A bloke that rides with us (Billy) purchased ecks wr 250 and took it straight to cycletune tamworth and got some stuff done to it, one of the things was to get it lowered, he rode with us sunday and went like a scalded cat, best move he ever made,

he used to be a back of the pack rider, now his mid pack in one ride, money well spent.

Depending on where you ride, look out for ruts, got my Husky lowered, only by 25mm but found I am sticking in ruts more than before.
Teknik did the lowering for me.

If you are still wondering what to do, I purchased a Ballards lowering link for my WR450 some time ago. It is extremely easy to fit, comes with bushes, bearings and seals. Dropped the seat by 40mm. It has made all the difference for me. I also lowered the forks in the clamps by 12mm. The bike actually tracks and rides better now I reckon. Cost new is $269. Check out ebay. They come up from time to time. Also check out http://www.ballards.cc Page 58 in latest catalogue. Hope it helps.
    Cheers Budge
