    iam 5’10 and 180 pounds

What i dont like about the wr450f is i really dont feel to comfortable on it at all i find it really hard to turn in tight places that might just me. my friend and i were riding tight places on the weekend he was on my old kx250 lol he was smoking me normally we could keep up and have a fun day of riding and stuff neck and neck but. but i guess iam just to used the lighter bikes

I do like it yes but as i said i miss 2strokes the 450 is prolly just to much for what i do

i cant flick it around like i can 2strokes

    Cheers

I know what you mean i went from a 04 KX250 to a 06 KX450 and noticed how much heavier it felt ,It took abit of getting use to ….My 08 KX 450 is good for what i use it for, but you can not beat a two smoker in tight stuff
What two stroke are you going to get?

If I were you I would lean toward a 2 smoker than can be rego’d. If your hell bent on either the Yam or the Kato I’d get the KTM for it’s reg. The TM and Gas Gas 300’s would be worth a look too…

You have obviously considered trying to spend a few more K’s on the 450 to try and lean to ride it better? It’s a totally different style. Whilst I agree that a lighter will ultimately be quicker in the tight stuff a bigger bike can be threaded through pretty quick too.

TB rides his XR650 through the ST faster than most people on this site. 2 smoker or not.

And the end of the day I guess you have to go with what you are happiest with :)

Mate, i whole heartedley agree with you,Ive been a 2 stroke bloke all my life (my wife says that as well:blush: )but I bought myself a WR450 (04) model spent a bomb on it getting it setup right and all. With the intentions of doing some longer trail rides. But it was wearing me out to quick,I wasnt able to carve it through the tight stuff that we normaly ride and I was having a heap more fun on the old faithfull 98 rmx. So Had to go back to a 2 stroke. The GASGAS came up at a real good price so I snapped it up and I havnt looked back.Gili rode it through some single trail and loved it,I rode his bike 08wr450 and your right it felt real heavy,he is now looking at getting a 300 as well.Go with your gut feeling mate and consider a rego bike,if your in the Wato’s You can have a go on mine if you want, hope you dont lose to much coin on your bike.

I remember our first ride Ollie when you were wasted and you flipped your bike in the rocky stuff! That was a funny day :p Good advice though, as you have had direct comparable experience.

For you Military type police people when moto says wasted he implies “very tired” not “hey man check out the red polka dot brain sucking tree frog “
