    Hi all,
I can no longer actually take credit for owning this bike as I sold it last year in order to buy a house. Long story short, I had sold my 06 KTM525 to make way for a BMW R1200GSA. I had intentions of getting a new dirt-bike down the track but needed something to fill the void in the meantime. I have always wanted to own one of these big dingers so when I spotted one on e-bay I thought what the heck!

I had never bought anything like this of e-bay before and after a 8 hour drive to eastern creek in Sydney, I was relieved to meet a well dressed business man with an immaculate WR500!

The bike had receipts for a full engine rebuild, along with a full suspension service with gold-valves front and rear. I was only the 3rd owner and the bike had done very little work.

A flat-side carby, modifed reeds, FMF Fatty Pipe and FMF Power Core 2 muffler rounded out the mods.

I dressed it up with new bars and some new plastics but the conditon it was in was something else for a bike this age. It ran sweet, had loads of grunt and vibrated like hell! I will be honest and admit I never got a chance to ride it very much, only briefly at a friends property before I had to sell it. It sold quickly to a guy that wanted it for grass-track motocross and is the only bike I have never lost money on! (never made any though either!).

Anyway, the brief memory lives on and a 2010 TE510 has replaced it as my current ride along with the Beemer. Enjoy!

    Nige
