Shims you buy after you check the clearance $15 ea,vernier $25+, tension wrench $100+ or borrow your mates. Timing very easy if you can read engrish plenty of how to video’s on youtube and the satisfaction of doing it yourself: cost to have it done in a shop $250+ I guess its all about priorities ;) just be methodical and take plenty of pictures for backup ;) good luck with it mate

Just Looking back through some old posts. Found this one and it reminded me about the cost of shims. Can you buy them in bulk like those assortment packs? If they were $15 dollars each you would need a security team to get them from the shop to home. I know they are made to tight tolerances and must be made out of hardened steel but why do they cost so much. You can see the value in bearings and the like but a tiny disk? The machine that makes them would probably punch out thousands of them in an hour. Hardly labor intensive.

yes you can buy them in an assortment pack about $150 (i think) but individually they are exspensive. A bit like carb jets I can get a pack of five for about $2 each the local Bike shop tried to charge me $23  although Ballards were only $8

Thanks Ollie ;) Just as I had suspected. Will look out for some. I payed about $20 for aprox 8 Yamaha style bolts that I now know I can buy in a pack heaps cheaper. They might catch me once but they won’t do it again.
