that is exactly why my standard light is on the cupboard in the shed and I run cheap after market jobs, I dont ride to much of a night so the cheap ones work for me. ;)

I fitted one to the OBT project DR they are only 99 bucks unbreakable and provide a good light as well. I have had the same one on my XR (red of course  ) since 2006 seen a heap of roosting while racing and never smashed

ps don’t let Boony pick one he has had some ugly lights on his DR

    Holeshot,

A lense on Thumpertalk is about $22 and the whole assembly is less than $90.

How can Suzuki justify $495 ????

No wonder people shop overseas :(

    Adam.

TB you got the same bulb in the polisport that it came with, because my high beam is ok but low beam sucks.

Yeah it only blew recently, I can’t comment on low beam I only leave it on high beam no bike light works well enough to warrant low beam  no one has ever flashed me for being on high beam :P

I once riped the glass out of an Xr headlight and cut a clear lexan one, which was glued on with sillastic.
    it worked fine.

Great idea. I broke my drz lens recently without even being on the bike, when the patrol spat a rock up on the way to Nundle and smashed the glass. The light works so ill try getting the glass out and fitting some lexan.

done one new headlight lens. mad e it out of 6pm Perspex it needed an additional 2 layers of 6pm just as edges about 5pm wide all the way around the edge to create a gap between the bulb and the new lens. All held in place with silicone. It will be interesting to see how it goes on Sundays ride. The cost bugger all , i gotthe perspex as an off cut for nothing plus some 5 min araldite silicone and two hours of my own time.

Looked but could not find @TT. Do you have a link please?

I’m another who has put the original DRZ light away as I heard how much they cost, that and the fact the whole assembly weighs about 2kg. I picked up an old RMX unit for mine.

If you think the light is expensive don’t smash the digital speedo assembly they cost the wrong side of a grand. I got a Trailtech Vapor on mine, again there is more weight to be saved here.

ps, I just noticed this thread has been dug up from the dark ages.

I was after a right hand side mirror for my DRZ, $145 from Suzuki. Told them not to worry about it and got some after market ones delivered for $32.
