So you have covered all the basics then, all the earths are good, no pinched wires, no wires hooked up incorrectly?

It shows that electrical problems do require making sure all connections are good and clean and that earths are as important as power supplies as they provide the return path to complete the circuit and nothing should be taken for granted.
