G’day all, putting my XR up for sale. Very, very fond of this bike but have another XR in the shed so this one is going. I rebuilt this bike last winter and recently rode it from Torquay (VIC) to Cairns as part of the Long Ride (was trucked home). It didn’t miss a beat and was an absolute blast to ride for 7 days straight. This thing hauls a%! over any terrain and due to it’s light weight makes high speed dirt road riding a walk in the park. And yes I will always have an XR650R in my stable.
Following work done:
Full top end rebuild
Head rebuilt with OEM items
Piston ceramic coated by Jet-Hot coatings
Stage 1 Hot Cam (great mid-range)
Clutch
HD springs
Clutch guide replaced with later p/n
Suspension
Front and rear suspension revalved, resprung and rebuilt for 100kg rider. All work done by Teknik Racing in Sydney, these guys built the Aust Safari XR650Rs back in the day.
** Suspension can be replaced with a set of stock suspension to reduce asking price.
Intake and Exhaust
Mikuni Pumper carb – awesome compared to OEM carby
High flow XRs only back fire screen.
FMF power bomb headers, wrapped to reduce heat soak into carby and radiators
White Bros series 2 pipe
Seat and Tank
SDG High cut seat
Acerbis 24L long range tank (fitted with XRs only billet tank mounts to cope with extra weight)
Brakes
Front and rear braided brake lines
Wavey front rotor
new pads front and rear
Wheels and Tyres
New front and rear wheel bearings
Excel front rim
Michelin AC10 front and rear (done 150km)
Current gearing 15/48 – new chain
New plastics were fitted but have since lost that new look. B&B frame guards.
Sump Guard
Sure there’s more but this will do, basically went over this bike with a fine tooth comb and replaced allot of misc parts.
Full VIC rego, RWC can be provided depending on how much haggling is entered into.
Will be serviced ready to go on sale.
