Ive finally found a website to buy genuine Yamaha parts online from usa its cheap and easy to use.
im reluctant to say the name because I thought it was illegal to ship oem parts because of licensing laws [rocky mountain wont send parts to oz]
    does anyone know for sure
if anyone wants the name pm me

I think most here buy local as much as we can, however I’m sure by the same token we have all bought something from an OS store when either too good to pass up or was more readily available.

Sadly we at times have to buy cheaper imported gear. Otherwise it would become unaffordable to ride as often as we need.

Some have used Mr cycles. Mostly for older bikes though.

I have sourced bearings from a US store for the rear linkage at a quarter of the price including postage for ‘oem’ bearings here in Aus.

the local Yamaha shop would only sell the whole speedo unit for $600 the cable I need was $100
id like to buy local but when they want $20 for a brake pin and they don’t stock it or any other parts for the best and most popular bike they make WR and they stuff it up when you do order it off them.
if there was a site like this in oz id use it but I cant find one

I too have shopped OS for WR450 parts. Very successful, no stuff ups, reasonable freight costs. On one of my orders I inadvertently left out a $2.75 woodruf key. No worries, get it local. $15 from the dealer here in Sydney. Same OEM part. I agree with supporting local blokes but I work hard for my dough and it just seems wrong supporting the local industry when their prices are triple. On the other hand, I have found local Sherco parts to be pretty reasonable.
Maybe its the kiwi in me coming out….

Yamaha seems to take its time with parts orders.
I ordered a bolt that holds on the front mudguard on a Tenere 660 and it took 6 months to arrive !!!!

I wonder how many bikes they were able to build and sell in that time ?????

A $4 part, got it for $2 at the local stainless steel place, but unfortunately had already paid and ordered it.
Six months for a bloody bolt, go figure.

Check out Off The Road in Germany, brilliant prices and then when you punch in your address, the figure is minus 19.5 % VAT, killer !!!!!!
