    Thanks TB
The stage 2 airbox cover I have replaces the snorkle on top with an open hole inlet. the stage 3 side cover does look dodgy and I agree it could let alot of dust in. Look forward to hearing about your ride, though I think I will be planning to do alot milder stuff on my tenere compared to what yours is going through.
    cheers
    Jim

Very good mate. The heavest bike I’ve ridin on the dirt was a kwaka 650 demo bike which I had for the weekend years ago in Canberra. At fisrt I was tryin to ride it like me 360 2banger but the did’nt work out to good so i backed it off and then I started enjoying.

I’m right now in the market for a new bike that can do a few things and have been lookig at second hand Teneres. I’ve got $8000 or so but the Yamis certainly hold there value. I’ve made some inquires into a new DR650 and it looks like i can get a new stock one for around $8000 on the road which I reckon is a good price. I’m a bit undecided though as I’d like an xr650 also but the DR is where I’m leaning as it’s a bit better for the road and will be new. I know ya mentioned how good the Vince Strang ad ons is but I only have $8000ish to spend. If I get one i’ll do some mods over a bit of time like 12-18 mths. Some things I want it for is ridin to work, doubling the mrs, ridin it with the kids when i take em ridin so i do’nt havta take me 300 and goin on some adventure type rides like the Nabiac one ya got goin. Either way another bike is on the way which i’m happy about that’s for sure.

How much will the mounting kit raise the bars by TB?
Is their a different mounting kit for fat bars or standard only?

Looks like a nice bit of kit ;)

Hey TB…when reading your review I noticed that your Tenere does not have a radiator guard…I thought I would show you the one I made for mine…regards Mick :)

Actually it does have a guard as such now (there are a few things that have been added since that story, I will update it soon  )
That said it’s not as good as yours, got another  mate ;)

The radiator guard was easy to make…just fiddly and time consuming making the manila folder card template.
The black alloy mesh was from Super Cheap Auto and the “pinch weld” rubber (with metal inside) was from Grippy Rubber Products at Silverwater.
The other materials I already had in my garage, i.e. sticky backed foam, vacuum hose & cable ties.
    :)

Nah to hard Mick, I will just buy a B&B one more boing alloy

Hey you want to buy a WER steering damper for your bike, cheap bolts on in 10 mins

You may find that because you have the SW Motech crash bars the B&B radiator guard with not fit.

I was going to fit a B&B or Radguard however because I have the Hepco& Becker crash bars they would not fit because of the cross brace…you may have the same problem with the SW Motech cross brace.

I saw one at Bathurst last year that had the same bars as mine and the guard so I hope when get one it will fit

It will fit one way or another
