hello trailboss, need some help!!!, just got a steering damper like the one you have (ralle-moto Adventure). At the front of the Ignition, the pin for the damper is meant to be bolted, but there is no holes for this, did you drill holes or drill out the pins that are there, can you let me know?

by the way, great report on the bike and gear, very helpful

Here Brett is the post I did when I fitted it, it is in the 10k on the Tenere post

“Fitted my damper today, wasnt the easiest damper I have ever fitted I have to say but worked out great

    Original setup with bar risers

    IMGP0254.jpg

The ignition cover needs to come off, two phillip screws

    IMGP0255.jpg

Once the cover was removed it reveled the steering lock bolts are shear bolts. Once they are tight they shear and it prevents people unbolting the steering lock

    IMGP0256.jpg
    IMGP0258.jpg

I drilled a small hole in the cente and once I was sure it was in the centre I drilled it as big as I dared below the head height

    IMGP0259.jpg

I then used a drill bigger than the bolt shaft size to get rid of the head

    IMGP0260.jpg

I used an easy out and removed both bolts

    IMGP0262.jpg
    IMGP0265.jpg

Both bolts out, ready for the pin bracket

    IMGP0267.jpg
    IMGP0281.jpg

Once done I removed the standard bar mounts and mounted the bar mount bracket, it needed a spacer between the rubber mounts and the bracket

    IMGP0280.jpg

It was now I discovered I hadn’t listened to Steve when he said it is a fat bar mount, I flew down got Suttos and got a few sets of bars so I could try a few before I decided. (try that with your cheap US web shops  )
Once a set was found I bolted it all up and happy days

    IMGP0289.jpg

I then drilled and tapped a thread to mount my GPS

The only other thing need was a fat bat bark buster mount kit”

When in the states last week I purchased a spot tracker ram mount and cradle, I mounted it up today and to reduce the clutter on the bars moved one of my GPSs up above the speedo. Will make keeping and ey on the gps easier and watching the spots still tracking and working real easy

Hey Gavo, there has been about another 60,000 plus roll under 3 more Teneres since this thread.
I will try and update were it all is and what I have learnt since in the next few months. In the mean time give me a call if you have any questions

Have used an Australian made screens for bikes tall screen and tall screen from Off The Road Germany. The German screen was back in the early days when they were the only available

Smoked colour sounds great and looks better but the clear works better in the long run
