I think you will find that Mac Attack and Black Zippo will be there, look for Mac’s Old Bull Trailer and introduce yourselves. Be prepared to laugh your head off once Black Zippo the scotsman gets a few grogs in him.
July 30, 2010 at 7:57 am #184967yes i will try and catch up with them mick last years saterday night was a ripper a little to good i think

Quote:reckon you saved a dollar but a bit steep this yearThe price did go up this year, they have included transponders in the price, when compared to the two other events I’ve been to this year it is excellent value for the riding & backup.
Finke was near on $800 for entry & Club Fuel
Hattah was $200 for one days riding, then you had to factor in accom.
Yellow Mountain free camping, they transport your fuel for free & the last two years a stubby holder was included in the entry, if you break down they’ll pick you up & transport you & your bike to the finish, no time cut off.
Finke if you break down in the Supp Regs it is your responsibitily to get support, sweeps will check on you & report your position , however no guarantee of a pick up.
Neither Hattah or Finke gave you anything of value in the entry pack.
Even Sunny Corner is $140 this year, I rate the terrain & riding much higher at Yellow Mountain
August 8, 2010 at 9:23 am #182839got smoked yesterday in prolog buy an xr230 how goods that 😆 soon got round it on the track but started 138 i think .thought it was going to be a slop fest but had a few slop holes some loam and supriseingly some bull dust .was a good ride i thought took out a small tree today  be interesting to see the results started at 51 today and had a lot better run than yesterday with no slow bikes in the way :woohoo:
August 8, 2010 at 11:00 am #185507Good job Rocket, reckon you got home in the top 50 thats real good mate. How was the track compared to previous years? I heard last week that they has cut the first 20kms out because of the rain and moved the start down the road  ?? Its always a great event which is why it fills in hrs I guess

August 8, 2010 at 11:23 am #185510they cut out the gill gyde section think they were full of water. there are some realy fast riders there by the look of the track had to use the imagination a bit with line selection.have only done last years event most of the track was much the same i liked it .had a super long start finish straight the totenham end was different .there was some nice loam out there smoken got three flat tyres .he rode the last 80km on a flat front tyre dunlop952 run flat tyre or he seems to think
August 8, 2010 at 11:30 pm #182840I finished 49th this year, had an average run to Condo, dicing with badbowie until he a had a big off, .
Sunday Morning felt at one with the bike & made the return trip 20 mins quicker, passing heaps of people & not being passed.
The track was better through areas where there would have been bulldust, big bogholes that sucked your bike in all up a great event
August 9, 2010 at 6:35 am #185513Great Work Rocket & SB!!!!
Must have been a beaut off Badbowie had for him not to race back on the Sunday! I hope he and his bike are OK!
For those interested:
Jacob Smith won the weekend. Matt Fish was 7 minutes behind in 2nd, with Stu Bennett 3rd back another 4 minutes.
Jake Haddrill had the quickest time over to Condobolin from Tottenham on the Saturday, beating Jacob by 1 minute. However, he DNF’d on the return leg on Sunday. It must have been pretty challenging, I see that almost 30% of the starters DNF’d!!!!!!
Well done All.
King Crash
(jealously muttering in a quiet voice like the dog “muttley” in the Wacky Racers………Lucky Bastards)PS I didn’t know Madmac, Zippos & KTM_rules real names to check their result
August 9, 2010 at 6:59 am #182841My race finished at 106km on the first day after a allmighty off, I was stabilised trackside with the green whistle and morphine. then transported to Condo Hospital via ambulance. I don’t know 100% what is wrong at this stage, more tests tomorrow, I can’t wipe my own arse or dress myself.
August 9, 2010 at 7:03 am #185536came in at 46th am happy with that (should have been there crash)
August 9, 2010 at 7:11 am #182842Well done Rocket! I’m guessing the track must be a bit more open than the average pony express. The top blokes averaged around 85km/hr and you were around 70. Pretty high average speed. Must be a lot of sections where you can really open it up.
August 9, 2010 at 7:19 am #185537its got some top gear fast as your bike will go sections through paddocks and on cockys roads .fire trail type stuff through the bush and some pony express type stuff .a lot of people hold there bikes flat down the straights i feel sorry for mine and back it of a little have no speedo .think a lot of bikes get up around 160 had a few husaberge 650s blow me down the straights and the ktm300s are fast down them to

My WR450 saw 158 on the speedo, translated to 150 on the GPS max speed on the way to Condo, couldn’t be bothered carrying it for the return trip although seeing my times it would have been interesting to compare, running 14/50 with a 120/90 ED12, last year saw 149 GPS on a M404 110/100.
Accelerates quick to 140 then need to tuck to get the rest,135-140 speed is comfortable & the bike felt like it could sit there all day.
August 9, 2010 at 10:42 am #185549Well done guys. It a big effort after all the rain they had out there.
