Friday morning we set off for them there hills as normal, however this time there was something different about the trailor, not only was there the KTM 250 on it there was also a jianshe 80 and a brand spanka CRF70, yep we where taking the kids riding for the weekend.
We arrived on our paradise property and found snowy and Damus flat chat with the chain saw getting the wood ready for that night, these guys where only riding on the friday then heading home but they still cut the wood for us,(bloody champions).
It took a few hours for everyone to arrive, set up camp and then all hell broke loose. I went out and set up some trails for the kids to ride on and before I knew it there was 8 kids on mini bikes tearing up the country side. We “adults” took it in turns to ride constant sweep as there was parts of the trails we couldnt see from the esky.
In about 1 hour the tin lids had cut in some really smooth trails and they were having a ball. My 2 have really only ridden on the flat padock here at home but in no time at all they had the hang of it and a new family activity was born.We took the kids on a bit of a trail ride which they all done really well on.
There was even a local bike shop owner there on her new DR 125, and she was having as much fun as the kids.
Friday came to a close , much to the disgust of the kids and everyone retired to the tents, cabin, van and swags.
Saturday could not come quick enough for them, here we are cooking brekky and the tin lids are getting suited up to head out again. Bikes fueled and it was on again.
Bikes and dust was the order of the day, my young bloke would ride up to the designated bike parking area, turn the jianshe off, see some one still out there riding, kick it into life and off he`d go again.
I have a reading of 70ks on my trip meter for the weekend and I was only out there every so often. I would say the grometts would have covered well over the 100 k mark for the weekend.
    A big thanks to.

I don’t think that I can thank everyone enough for a great 2 days of fun.
Just watching the kids ride the loop Boony had set up was just a taste for what I felt when I would look over my shoulder on the bigger trails and see a line of kids taking their first steps towards trail riding and thoroughly enjoying it. Especially the water crossings where the would plough through and spray themselves and any one around them.
I think the highlight for me was to watch my 12 yr old son take his first steps towards adult riding when he climbed on a 250 for the first time. To say he enjoyed it was an understatement. I can’t thank Boony ( Kato ) and Matt ( Honda ) enough. He enjoyed both bikes, but I think he enjoyed the Honda more, sorry Boony. I believe I am now looking at buying a 250, thanks guys.
Bring on Upper Horton and North Star.

    Your right there mate.
I think a trip out to Matt’s is on the cards. But he’s been told if he knuckles down at school he might get one for his birthday.
As for the tame Honda thing, Adam told new that he wheelied it a few times and I noticed he had the back end stepping out on occasions

    Nice one Boony.

I love riding with my kids, it’s one of life’s true pleasures.

We’ll have to get together with the kids some time.
