Im not talking about the biggest hill here I just wondered what everyones worst hill they have struck is. We were down in the Dungog Forrest on the weekend and went down a typically greasy steep trail crossed the river and hit what wasnt a steep hill although we all fell or slid down in just trying to walk. Naturally instead of being smart and turning around we tried and tried to get up it. So two hours later we had skull dragged the four bikes 200m up the hill till we could actually ride further. Not even brand new tyres would mark the red shitty clay or the white rock that NASA could use for a lubricant.
The next day we rode hills twice as steep, rutted and technical but dry and not clay so the biggest hill certainly wasnt my worst ever.November 16, 2010 at 8:31 am #190838its amazing who you run into out on a ride, i to was out at dungog and waiting for a couple of blokes to get up a hill when snow come riding along, your right it was greasy out there Snow but there bloody good riding there and i hope it was good practice for Coffs Harbour, 8 days 10 hours to go

November 16, 2010 at 9:36 am #190853seemed a bit tame on the down hill version, but going back up it when its wet would have been interesting, ,,,what about that the hill with the log across it, you know the one I was the only one to clear,,lol
that was pretty intense at the end of a day.
November 16, 2010 at 10:12 am #190855This one from the Kowen forest ride rates for me. The vid is a little long but the down and up hill bits start from the 2.10 mark, down was a bit sketchy but up freakin shocking (or at least I was

Also I realise its not me that causes DRZ’s to flip it must be the bike not us!

Sh&%t hill Nundle Is certainly very long and steep with over your case ruts. The times i have been up it I have been pinned under the bike and have fallen off, fliped, boiled and also stalled many times. The point when you no longer have enough strength to pull the clutch in is amazing. When i did the bike slowly tractored up till vertical, then to stop it going right over I let it fall to its side but I then fell and sat right on the side of the bike like I meant it. Was that stuffed I had to sit for a while, which was good I was already doing just that. It is very hard and I have never got straight up it without some carnage but….. To me the hardest hills are such that if you are stopped for any reason you must go right back to the bottom. Eg Cat Hill Dirtbike Territory Said on a few occasions “Is that all you’ve got??!” And it is their second hardest hill. Watched some footage of Pork Chop once thanks to Boll on U tube. I thought that looks easy and then Bundyroy had a go. He is a far better rider than me. He did not do so well. So I took that as a big fat FAIL for me if I was there. So thanks mate for not making ME look like a fool on UTUBE!!!!! Have not seen a camera yet that will do a hill justice.

Will be putting together an old bulls south coast ride next season, we will visit Pork Chop, so all who attend can be enlightened.

November 16, 2010 at 9:23 pm #190861Great vid and I like the heavy breathing too you are lucky to have the magic button its a bastard to kick over a bike on a steep hill and you are out of breath and how fast were you really going before the off the trail adventure?
November 16, 2010 at 9:54 pm #190840Pork Chop is a funny sort of hill. You hear all about it and the anticipation is there before you arrive. You see it for the first time a few km’s out and you really get scared as it looks even bigger than it’s reputation. You arrive at the bottom and think, bit rough but I reckon I got a chance, maybe it’s not as bad as it looked from the distance. You then have multiple goes and only get up the bottom third and you ride off into the sunset with hopefully only your pride dented. It costs more if your bike is dented though.
