Hi Blokes, i am looking for some tips for rebuilding a burnt yz60. I can source a replacement cdi from a wrecker in America but I was wondering if anyone knew if a minibike from the same era might have a cdi that will do the job or are they very bike specific?
    Thanks, Andrew

Hello Andrew, usually they are bike specific having an advance curve and pulse of it’s very own however being a yamaha (and other japs as well) there is a possibility that it shares a part number like the coils do with the 50 or even the 80 of around that era.
Cross reference the part numbers through one of the online resources and see what you come up with, alternatively if the pulse benerator (at the flywheel) has the right ohms etc you may well be able to use one off another model and just adjust the timing to suit at the plate.
