The usual Friday night shenanigans where going on in my shed, Toes was there with a couple of kilos of prawns, then RiderX turned up closely followed by KTMBULL(once again Dave was a no show)Black Zippo and Firk Nurkle arrived from Sydney at about 8pm and as usual a few drinks were consumed in preparation for the ride Saturday.

Saturday dawned clear and crisp, perfect riding weather, the ride from my place to the start point, were we were to meet RiderX was rather cool to say the least.Once we got under way RiderX jammed us straight into the tight singles and we were warmed up in no time.

WE followed pretty well the same trails we did on my birthday bash ride and were having a ball as the conditions meant no dust and nice grippy trails. About 25km into the ride I noticed the exhaust note on the XR was different and it seemed to be much louder,my first thoughts were that the pipe had split again, so at the first opportunity to stop,I noticed that the packing from the pipe was all hanging out from the end of the pipe.
Firk Nurkle commented that something had flown out off the pipe and near hit him earlier on, we presume that was some of the packing. I pulled what I could out of the pipe as it was all hanging down near the back wheel. A bit further down the trail, more packing started to hang out of the pipe,so RiderX in his wisdom got a stick and poked it all back in again and that was the last time we saw any of the packing for the rest of the ride, but geez the XR is loud now!!! We went down into a sweet section of rainforest and we were belting along rather quickly when the front tyre of the XR let go and she had a bit of a lay down for a minute. I was doing the KTMRAT trick of trying to pick it up before anyone came along and saw, but to no avail.Firk Nurkle was there in seconds, laughing like a fool. The Mikuni carb on the XR is one of the best things I did to the XR as she started first kick and I was away in no time.

As there was only the four of us,we were setting a great pace and breaks were few and far between. Here we are somewhere in the bush.

We stopped on the top of Bago for a look as the day was really clear and the views were fantastic.

From there we headed down Wilcox trail and through the Quarry, this is where Black Zippo decided to run the TM dead smack into a tree.No harm done but the great thing was, he had his helmet camera going at the time and captured the whole episode, we had a look at the footage on Saturday night and it is hilarious!!

From there it was onto Big Jurassic park and down to the log bridge, which gave the boys a wee bit of grief, Firk Nurkle was the first to come down and Black Zippo followed with exactly the same result.

At this stage,I had to leave the ride as I wanted to get Taylah’s new Pro Senior together and running, so I headed back to town and left the boys at RiderX’s mercy.

A quick photo and I was off.

From there the boys had a great time, going on the grins on their faces when they got back to my place at about 3pm.

Today we are off to KTMBULL’s place to give the boys a few laps of the MX track and a look around Bellangry before they head back to Sydney.

Nice report Mick bar the bit of Bulls*#t you wrote about leaving early to put Taylors bike together, you may have put her bike together and maybe not, but I have a hunch (and some inside info) it was also a seaky sneak away as old Mick was blown and a tad dusty from the nite before and that gave him an out
