Quote:Thanks for the update 1inarow. I had heard that rumour today and squashed it and my source also rang his source and told him that was not the case.My heart goes out to the family as they have been in this bad place for a long time. They are one of the nicest families you will meet (apart from yours 1inarow).
Thank you on their behalf and on mine!
Guy’s,
Nudged my raw nerve today when I heard “the rumor” that this may have been some form of mucking around with guns and blame it on “the sniper on the hill” line!! (actual line from Bathurst local rag would you believe!!!!!)
If you are told or hear this pleeeeeease squash immediately for us riders sake, for sporting shooters sake (not me by the way)and for common sense sake.
I have known this chap for more than 20 years and I can assure you that this is no snow job! He, and his family, are in a bad place with his wife in her last weeks losing the battle with the big C and were on a quick get some fresh air before going back to her hospital room. Sounds odd doesnt it, but if you knew her you’d know they are out there as she would have sent them.
That day didn’t quite have the desired effect and ask me the f…ing hospital debacle story sometime!!!! Bloody hell!

TB,
Done a few km’s on various things from the very first Te’ne’re (cape in 84) had the KLR650 in late 80’s (same bike as now!!) had a 1150GS for a few years, and had a KTM640adv. Never had a drama with that 660 Yamaha motor (in Raptor quad’s) and looked at one yesterday at shop, looks good, easy parts to get! Tow loop is probably just a “tough piece” more likely it will run out of fuel and thats not the bike’s fault is it!
Major selling point when I got rid of the 640adv was the bloody vibration, through both your ass and the pegs, it was terrible. sure you could add a sheepskin and put the rubber back in the pegs but…. it still is vibrating!!
I like Mal’s thing and I(personally) would go that way, but if that wasn’t around I’d probably go the 660!

Check used value of Territory v purchase against same for Prado.
Diesel and have fun blowing off the doof doof excels at the lights. Get an auto one too, suits the TD better and the economy is same.
Just had a another look at the first shot, definately bolted! Great line!
Go the view! Ultimate trust. Remeber, not the first 16m thats the problem!
Deal. Dont know, my shout and we go with HighnWild or such. Dont tell boys at work… BIG SUPRISE…… should be some “oh shit” moments eh!

Quote:Yeh it’s a good place to train Chris. A bunch of us used to go every week when we were right into it for training. Nothing like the real stuff though. I’ll find a pic of Murph.I went to Leura climbing gym a few months ago and want to get back into it. Beats bike riding any day.
Come on Mal, you know you want to bite… Want to go to the GAC xmas party / canyon trip?
Some might say you would need a stronger rope…. BIG BOY!!
Mal,
1inarow was the nickname that Ben (Silverstone tyre guy) gave me after winning Bathurst outright in 2004. The line goes “I have won 1 in a row you know” And no I havn’t won one since!!
Yes the G-man is my most usuall but actually started many years ago on pushbikes but relates to my always large Gravity muscles (gravity man) I was pretty quick down the hills some 82kmh down Mt Vic pass. Now if your the einstein type you’ll know that mass has no effect on velocity in a gravity type situation. So that means that it must be I just love going fast! 82kmh in lycra….yeah (wish you were going down the pass that day eh Mal??)

Moto,
Not quaife (they do more classic car type I think)but Modena. Australian gear sets sold around the world, really the ducks guts. This one is Box # 8 of the super box series that he made, Simon Evans ran box# 7 when he ran this model back in the late 90’s. Use the clutch to launch then clutchless shifting both up and down gears so you can left foot brake (takes some getting used to)
Mal,
Sneaking up behind you in the car, jumping into the forum on you… told you that AVO wouldnt work!
Yes, the little rex. That’s a Modena gear box and diff set (titanium shifters, dog engagement for the engineering types)25k on it’s own. Yes a bit of fun, nothing like getting air in a shopping trolley at 140. Mal had a short run, I think he thought it was OK.
