I so can’t wait for this ride:) as far as insurance goes does that mean if we have a MA license that it won’t reduce the cost? Either way still can’t wait. Also this year at North Star there will be no cast iron pots allowed for cooking in the fire after the fines the EPA handed out for smoke pollution. Not mentioning any names ….. Ron 👿

No matter how much pain kids put you through it’s still worth it.

Well done mate. While at work today I was wondering how you got on. I reckon you did great. That track sucks in the dust. We used to laugh about the gorillas in the mist(rocks in the dust waiting to take you out). Great run down on your event thanks for posting. :)

This thread has kept me going all day in my breaks of course. Best ride report ever and so eloquently written. :P Not 100% sure what that word means but I’m sure it means grouse or something. 😆 well done to all involved.

Ha that is funny Scoty and mostly because it is so true. People with “those” bikes do bag all other bikes. Even though old skippy used to bag them out when he had a DRZ. Not mentioning any names. Nice vid STM. B)

That looks like Kokoda that runs off just to the south of maxwell flat camp grounds. That is normal. Boony loves it because he can have a rest off his bike every ten meters. :woohoo: The rest of it are the best trails ever. Love the video.

Yea raced 2 rounds there so far, first round had a cracker but 2nd round not so good … 3rd corner 1st race got way out of line and we went for a trip over the hangers with a cartwheeling 450x chasing me, knocked the wind out of me and thought I broke my ankle but all good now haha
I installed some nice new heavy duty tubes as I’ve been there 2 times and had 4 flats … safe to say I am now pretty good at tube changes haha hopefully won’t have to do that tomorrow
Mate can do but what’s this crap about been on 250’s ! I’ve been reading your thread with great interest !

You do realise that the likes of cory and LC think we have gone just a little soft with the whole 250 thing. Well it sound like you are very experienced with the rock at uralla. I hope the motorcycle gods will be shining on you with some dust suppression as low visibility and rocks don’t mix.

If you want pain banoweera has it in spades. Be gentle on those poor rocks. I think you raced there In the sprint series so you know what it is like. It is the home of pinch flats if you ride hard. Give it hell for us old farts on 250’s. 😆

Snowy i have been riding  :P The last two rides I went on were at the qurindi motocross club and the power and handling of the YZ was very addictive and I so know what husky bloke is up to. If I took the 250 there I would have to replace the valves every second ride. Lol. Alright I will admit it you guys are riding so much faster now that you are not riding ag bikes :silly: And no boony I don’t want a 350 as if you read back in this thread you will see that I think the power of the 350 is closer to 450 not a 250. So if I was going much bigger I would just get the 450. Also the latest adb said the stock crf 250x would suit a beginner. I don’t want to be a beginner so I will compensate with some mods. 👿

Just to let you all know project 300 will start in less than a week. I don’t think it will be finished before the upper Horton trail ride …… Wtf half my post disappeared :( any way I will re do it in point form. Ss valves ordered. A guy in tamvegas will bore the case. Lots of pics will be taken so you can see what it takes to make a 250 go not as well as a 450. Lol.

So It seems from my survey that steering dampeners could help your riding experience. And I have also discovered that one old bull could in fact be a bit of a comedian. 😆
