Do really good riders use them ??? Price grabbo strang etal ?? If so in what conditions? So what I am really asking is….are they something that will help the novice, average or pro rider??
One more thing use the sighting lap to explore areas off the main riding line as you won’t be going fast and you can avoid that rock stump cliff etc  this will be very important later on the race when the braking and acceleration bumps get crazy so you can be confident to go out into the rough which will soon be the smoothest line.
I would only take minimal tools when in pony x ironman. I would ride back to the pits for any tire related issue. But I run heavy duty tubes with 16 psi and have never had a flat in a race. If it was a big enough failure to warrant heavy tools on the track well f it its over. I would carbo load the night before the race and eat pancakes and fruit. Best excuse ever  I would drink lots if water. I took that tip from josh strang. Seemed to work.
I would avoid caffeine as I would be peaking out anyway so the last thing I needed was a stimulant or a diuretic to make me have one more nervous piss. On race day eat healthy regularly and small so you don’t get a downer. Go as early as you can so you can sign on and take your fuel to the fuel up area etc so you can relax and conserve energy before the race. If you are prone to blisters on your hands tape them with strapping tape but don’t make it too tight or you will cut off the blood supply to your hands which sucks. You can also spray deodorant on your palms to stop them sweating as they tear up more easily when wet. Bit random with the reply but some of that may help. Try to have fun also as not too many people are doing this stuff for a living. Good luck mate!!

” lucky I`m with Aami”
you know the one where Katoot gets lucky .
Boony
A lot of bait going out there boony bu not too many hungry fish out there. I know what is going through your mind mate as I like you was dropped at birth!!
I insure my bikes till they are worth about 4 g’s After that I don’t think the insurance is worth it. Just my 2 cents. Hey at least I had something constructive amongst the BS unlike someone else. 👿I can’t help with that style in particular TB. But we have all of our GPS gear in pelican cases and they are very tough and light. They have to contend with cutting edges and all manner of heavy objects hitting them in the back of my ute. They are expensive but worth it. I don’t think you could go wrong with the brand and that one looks good too. Just my 2 cents.
Old school ACDC. Midnight Oil. Well lets be honest they are the only ones I will own up to any way after all it was the 80s 90s
Well I am pleased actually that you guys think it could be a good thing.
Nick mentioning in the 650L thread that he gets people who bring in bits from the states that may or may not have any benefit (as i understood it ) So i thought am i one of those dudes. To further my thoughts regardless if anybody actually gives a rats. Before i mention the KTM 350 i will just explain why i am comparing the two. I think that the power that a stock 350 has would be the upper end of what could be achievable when seriously working a 250f. But if I were to get to that stage I think it would be unreliable. I rode a Demo KTM 350 EXC in the pine singles at nundle and I found the power to be closer to a 450 than a 250. “I” could not ride it like I stole it in the tight pine singles like a 250. This obviously would change if I were a better rider. So I hope to find that middle ground without creating an unreliable race oriented bike.
For many of the people who frequent this site the NIPES is just too far away. Many of the Tamworth people could but don’t because they are getting too old
or like me are always at work. But enough of that sad sorry garbage. I would like to go to some if the sprint series run through Frosties bike shop at Armidale called Super Moto. Matt Varley from bikes and bits posted stuff about it on Facebook and it sounded great. Apparently you can enter kids in it too. ???This got my attention straight away as my son is getting his comp license this weekend. Once again thanks to Matt. You could see a few of us at Upper Horton pony x but for some F’d up reason it keeps getting put on at the same time as the kids school function night which is very annoying.
Look what you’ve started Adam. Now we will never get around him. Lol. That’s looks sweet Polly.
I know that you are only doing this to get back at the likes of menace or who ever it was that roosted you and broke your tooth.
Sad to say but I know my bike will have hail damage on the front from your rear tyre.
I won’t be on my own there. :S Bring it on though Polly I look forward to the screaming. :silly:
snowy09 wrote:Shame you couldnt come we found any number of creeks you could have swum your bike in. The new link will join all back creek, ronnies pines singles, harris rd and the original native singles into the new stuff and old pines, roughly 60-70 km loop of single trail.I was looking forward to hitting some of those singles this weekend but its not to be. Those trails sound great
small bore heaven. You will have to go and try cuddle hill. There is a tree down on it now which translates to ‘its harder ‘. Lots of fun. Or did you have a crack at it with damus? Bring on the next nundle adventure!
Damus doesn’t frequent this site much so I will help him out. He has picked up a WR450 second hand I think it is a steel frame jobie so you wil have to get a move on if you are at the back of the pack. The super sweep will be keeping us all honest now. Polly on the other hand has bought a trail bike to replace the tractor. That’s all I’m saying.
cannot wait to sample the trails snowy on my CRF 302. :woohoo:
Happy birthday LC. Remember to stay away from any bottle of piss with a deer on it. :woohoo:
Have a good night. That vid was a great little reminder boony thanks for the revision mate. The conditions were perfect and with s new scorpion on the front the front felt like it was on rails. As you guys said the ride flowed like no other I have been on. No stops for silly stuff. Thanks boony snow and dhamus. For looking keeping the crew in one piece. Was great to see some new trails on the Dam side. Thanks matty v for getting me and the bikes there and for the Saturday prep. I said it to boony on the day and thought some might apreciate it too. Thank f&$k you guys got rid of those tractors and got enduro bikes as it is soo much quicker on the rides. And to the only one who still persists with the agricultural machinery….. Polly how do you ride that thing so quick?? I would like to have your 10000k service intervals though.
You know what you should do. Ha. It’s always great to see you especially seeing you travel so far. Thanks also to Rick for the fuel drop etc. Had an absolute ball thanks to all who went and made it so good.

Have never done that one. Tamworth had what I thought was the 2nd best track but it got canned.
It would be a fair trip to do the whole series for most of the people on this site. For those just wanting to have a ride on the day and check out what it would be like to race. You could sweep. Much cheaper option. Just do a race that is closest to you. If you decide to do 3 or more rounds get yourself a MA license. The license can sometimes be used for insurance on some organised trail rides.I am definitely going to do Upper Horton this year. The best track by far.
