I thought it was all about emmisions and the 2t with oil in the fuel just did not fit the bill. seems crazy to talk about eviro friendly stuff and racing in the same sentence.

I use “twin air ” ones on my crf. I still use the original and cycle them till I have enough to warrant getting all the cleaning stuff out. That web one looks good but because of the tight access I would have thought it may make it harder to slide it into position. I have put a small tear in the original filter because of the same issue. The after market ones certainly don’t seem as high quality as hondas but they still seem to do the job

Heres the video from last year.

Re the 1:49 minute crash.I smashed myself on the log behind those sleepers. I Clutched the YZ to loft the front wheel and all I got was wheel spin in the sand. I slingshot myself straight into the log and almost went over the bars. Lucky there was only about 50 people looking when I did it. I loved that video!!! Thanks for posting it up Gibbit. :) Gives you a good idea of what these rides are all about when held out in the bush. Love it!!!

If I were in the market for a new 4T bike I would only be looking at something with Injection, thats just my opinion, mucking about with Carbs annoys me, bring on new technologies B) (probably why the CRF’s are going cheap ;) )

I look forward to owning a Fi bike but I must admit after bikes and bits jetted my bike it has run very nicely at all altitudes and levels of coolth. Nundle. Coffs and Vic high country. My wr was a prick to get right but that’s cause I did it. Amazing the difference a bit of skill makes. Welcome to the ride it like you stole it brigade snow ;)

She is priceless she is also obviously so used to seeing all your videos where we are all passing you ;)

Again it’s a fantastic write up I also checked through some results last night and I am sure it is the highest finish by an Old Bull at Finke. Next best about 100 spots behind in 2010 was Sb-250y, without detracting from sb’s result at all because a finish there in the first 50% is a great effort but given his race experience (safaris, condos, yellow mountains etc) it puts into perspective just how well you did mate one bike same tyres with your Dad cheering you on AWESOME!

    .

Any one who finishes this race is a bloody legend very well done Gibbit. Chris Thomas from Moree(OBT revthemobkey) placed 5th in his class and 50th outright. apparently had a big off over the bars but pulled through.

I think you should be careful scotty with having an officially organised breakfast. What would happen if somebody was to choke on their bacon. perhaps for legal reasons you should say that you will point them in the direction of the buffet. :silly:

Mat from bikes and bits lent me the 2012 crf 450 x demo for this ride as my 250 was away. Thanks very much again. Following snowy in the pine singles was much harder on the 450.snowy rode twice as quick as I had ever seen him in such conditions compared to the drz. I found the 4 much more taxing on the arms and you had to metre the power out as it wanted to live on the back wheel. On the other hand when going up cuddle hill I had to use the brakes on a small kink and at one time I hit ludicrous speed. A 450 is so good at putting a smile on your dial. Very fun I was so in love with the 450 then. Also while stuck on a slippery hill I found the smooth 250 power better at hooking up and less prone to harsh cough stop. Horses for courses. If you want to see where the 450 really starts to make sense find a road with lots of traction and I do mean lots. And put a 250 against a 4. and see what gear it starts to pull away. We found it was from the top end of third on. In sand the 450 ate the 250. The move to the 250 is also better for me at the moment as my gut us getting larger and in my current state of un fittness it is more friendly. If you are a goon buy the 450 as goon riding is much better with lots of power. Just my 2 cents. On the ride though I had a great time and the people were great fun to hang around. As per usual. Thanks to all Charlie and I had a ball. Also great job on the singles snowy tack and dahmis. Loved it ;)

Snow As a serial offender of talking rot, going off topic and being unruly it is with much regret that I stuck to your topic and wish you a happy birthday. I hope you fixed that rear mud guard on the drz you would think a person in your line of work would spot a broken tail bone
