Bollocks if I remember corectly the rear sprocket on that thing was fairly small as the guy who had it before you spent a fair bit of time on the road ??? Take it back to stock gearing or even shorter and you won’t be using the clutch so much which heats up the engine. :) I vote to keep it out of tech help as you still got all the help you needed but nobody got moderated. ;)

Well this thread has made interesting reading. Hey Cr0wI like the look of your bike. Are you running a TM Designs plastic/ nylon (or whatever they are made of) chain guard thingamy bit. What are they like I like the look of them. I need a new chain slide for my YZ and was thinking of getting a complete set.
Just went and read the list on the first page so sorry now i know it is a TM but the Question still stands.

If you are serious about going you should per enter. For one you will avoid most of the paper work and lines. And two you will go into the draw for the CRF 50. You should also start your own introduce yourself thread and tell us about you and most importantly you bike. You see we are a bit partial to them round here. I will be at this event as I love the track and I can take the kids as well. :)

That sucks Boony. At least you didn’t run the thing without oil and stuff it completely. That would have been a long way in that thing but might have been a blessing in disguise. Better luck next time.

I did not say it wouldn’t have prevented the initial injury. I just wondered if it would have. I can’t ride without my protective gear. I think I will buy a set of those braces now but.

I wonder if a set would have prevented the injury in the first place seeing it was a hit to the bottom of your foot not a side ways over extension ??? I would like to see you back in that time boony but after what you said your knee did I doubt it :( best of luck with the recovery mate

Although Honda don’t seem to consider the bike that ABR tested to be very capable off road the ABR tester seemed to think it is , which I thought interesting as so many bikes are claimed to be good adventure bikes and don’t live up to expectations !!

I think the 800 is called the “Crossrunner” and the 1200 “Crosstourer”. The wheels seem to show the true potential of the two. The 800 has cast wheel which look to be 17′ front and rear while the 1200 gets spokes and looks like a 19′ front.

Certainly two interesting bikes although I much prefer the styling of the 1200. I do love the sound of Honda’s V4’s. With a good pipe they are definately the V8 of the bike world.

Ah VFR with a 4 into 1 is there a better sound … I think not. No v twin could compete

Boony to give the slower riders a hand you must hang around at the tail of the field. Since geting that race bike we don’t see you back there anymore
