If I am leading a ride I slow down on corners, stay on the left side of the track and pretend there is another person coming.To make up for this slowing down I use the following tactics. Because you can drop corner men you effectively slow down the group. Remember you don’t just have to drop a corner man on a corner. You can point and drop them on a crest or any other half dangerous obstacle ie logs deep ruts or G outs etc. This way you can ride slower at the front but still keep the ride flowing. You do have to take advantage of the straits to keep ahead of the pack though. Some conditions help you keep ahead like dust. Also when riding in loose sand I find I can run through quicker when you are the first one to break the surface. A 4 B would be a serious obstacle if you met them on what we call single trail. Like over at Coffs when they are scrubbing the sides on branches all the way. Lucky there are not too many of those die hards out and about though. I heard of a death on a trail ride and it was the second rider that got killed. The first dude missed the 4 B but was still in the scrub when the second on smashed into the vehicle. Scary stuff. So we all should take note and ride a little safer some times…. Yes me included.

Bollocks, you were not invited to the executives group after the Nundle Extreme ride last year. :blink: Broken ribs, drowned bikes ….What were you thinking. :laugh: I will look after the fire lighting and ring of knowledge heating fuel duties!! Welcome to the Stuie_bcg. OK I have to ask what is bcg? Is it one of those new fangled terms like lol ROTFL WTF FML BTW ???? I will ask this at the risk of sounding stupid which I seem to do so well. :blush: Welcome mate. I am glad you sorted out the electric start issues. I also think it is good that you now know how good an electric leg is. I know you wont take it for granted after your experience. I am a bit disappointed to hear that you have been off the bike for a while as on a few occasions I had no hope of getting around you. So from now on just tell all that you are a pro rider and I will feel a lot better about my riding. :laugh: Hopefully you can come up and ride Nundle or the Cells with us one day. You will not be disappointed.

If your llooking for a jack of all trades you can’t go past the drz. Round up the cows , single trail , commute and adventure bile once you add a tank pretty well priced too

I have used Dirt Paw and Polar Paw . The polar ones were a bit thicker as I was wearing through the grip area at an alarming rate. I seem to wear them through where they only have one layer so don’t get more longevity as a result of the dual layer. The latest fox ones I have have plastic on the knuckles but the grip has still worn through. I think they could all do with stronger lining on the grip. You have to be a bit careful with some types of elastic as I glanced the header with the glove while repairing a damaged radiator and it melted and virtually stuffed a new pair of gloves.

I did not know a hilux needed one and a half lanes. How can you come up smiling from that. ??? The slow motion shows just how close he was to the car and why he thought it was best to move his hand out of the way. Very lucky indeed.
