I fail to understand how they can make legislation that lets non ADR vehicles be used in public areas. It’s simply a double standard.

I’m not up o what needs to be done to the bikes to get rec rego, is there any noise restrictions. I keep hearing hour noise is killing our sport yet they want to let MX bikes, with open race systems legal ride in the bush. I’m sure that will help the cause.

Drovers ride their quad bikes on stock routes they must do that under some sort of conditional registration. You would think I would know being from the bush but I am involved in a different type of horsepower. Ask Boll He is in the Cattle rustlinn trade

Not too many people who work for westrac would get to go on a trip like that only people they think they could(or have) swindle money out of. No we are into shiftin dirt .
Yeah I know you wouldnt throw in a tank of fuel. By the size of the tank it would double the price of the bike

Would be a shame to put it into the scrub and mess it all up seeing it has gone this long and still looks new. What I would like you to do is put it back in your shed and stop riding it. I will ring you in a couple of years once I have payed off the Mrs credit card I am about to cut up. No seriously enjoy it but be nice! I just like to keep coming back to this thread so I can look at that Fat Black Oval Exhaust! mmmm On your home front I went down your way a year ago and stayed at Turners Vineyard at Orange to watch the big race, Westrac’s shout ;) . While on the shuttle bus I saw some fine looking hills to ride. Very nice. Look forward to the pics of the WR. Aaron.

there was a 02 xr650 advertised in the newcastle herald 2 weeks ago for $2500 that was suposedly only used as a commuter to work Aaron

I have bought second hand bikes before that were someone problems. That became mine. I swore I would never do it again. I also used to love to read the QLD Trading post and I have read all the BS “never ridden in the rain” Very reliable bike…. Yeah until I buy it! It is probably true in some cases but.. Like I said if money wasn’t an issue. Nice of you to try and fulfill one of my back in the day dreams Ian. Not For Highway Use got me thinking about that big new XR650 I almost bought. I still think those stock exhausts(the can) look mad. By the way it was a chocolate mud cake and was very nice. TB should this thread be moved to the G*Y category it is about cooking? You might have a vested interest in this one. I agree about moving the Four one though golf is G*Y . Not that there is anything wrong with that though.

You know all golf courses should be bike tracks  My old man is a golf fanatic. I think the only thing good about golf is that you can drink while you do it! It’s gunna be a fun day. But Monday could be a different story

That is one sweet looking XR. How many K’s has it got on it it looks like brand new. There is hardly any scuffing on the clutch cover.

Just went through the License thing.. Nathan Reese changed the rules in March or May 2009..

Over 25 you first take the L course and at the end you get your L cert which you take to the rta and get your license upgraded. You must wait 3 months before you can take the Provisional course.. After 3 Months you do the P course and at the end you take the MOST test and if you pass you get your license cert which you take to the rta and upgrade your license again to motorcycle P1.. After one year as long as you have had no infringements you skip P2 and upgrade to a full license.. under 25 must do P2 for 2 years before getting full license..

DRZ400E is the best bike for an all rounder as has been suggested.. I have one and love it.. Setup for dirt and after 2 hours of changing setup it can be a full on adventure bike as well..

    Cheers…

Krusty has all the right answers here IMO. The drz is the most versatile bike. I still would not buy one because I trailer my bike everywhere. I also don’t mind having a bike that is a bit more highly strung at the expence of reliability.Wrs etal are only fun to live with while they are going and you are riding them. Bigger al was in the same situation not long ago. He went the Drz path and he loves it. I have followed him and he punches it along at “Ludicrous Speed!”. Go the Drz! the little engine that could!

Is weight the only reason you would want to premix. My MX 100 had a tank and it was very easy. Think the complete name for the ER was TS ER 185s Can’t work out why you wouldn’t just say that. Classic bike. One tried to come between me and my bike once, bitch. But it ended up going between the back wheel and the exhaust and ripped it off!

im thinking of doing this , 1. im not shy for a bit of a drive for a ride( hell i even drove to adelaide to buy my bike), 2. iv always wanted to race something be it a car or a bike and 3. surely i can only learn to be a better rider out of it ….?? WHY NOT!

Great series for your first race experience. You don’t have to ride really fast. If a rider comes up behind you that is faster just move off line and let them past. They have all sorts of people turn up and have a go. Riders like Josh Strang to riders much worse than me if that is possible  I have seen people pull out after one lap. I almost did. But that was on a really hard track that they do not do anymore. I have seen you ride and you would have no trouble. Just test your bike fitness next time you get out on the trails. Try riding for 2 hours straight. (minimum)Pace yourself you cant ride it at 100% you will get tired and start making mistakes. You might need to fuel up but practice that in a timed situation too. What you said is true mate you will come out of it a better rider. If you only make it to one ride make it Upper Horton the track is incredible. Dirt bike territory runs a close second. IMO.

2 fiddy in the top ten what an effort in those conditions. Check out the AVERAGE speeds .As for Steve/Ben. I would like to be able to ride a 450/530 hard enough to lunch the engine in 320 k’s. That is WITH oil and coolant in the engine

Sorry wont let me write longer than a page. Aaanyway The rest of the night was great and I me some very interesing people             :) :P :P Yes him you are a legend  Dude and Murph led the rest astray as per Dudes usual form. I almost did not make the morning ride as me and Boll were dining and taking it a little easy. Sorry guys. As you may have already read sundays ride was the best of the best and STM lead it really well. Soon people started bailing because of long trips home. But STM made it worth while staying behind we enjoyed some more quality single. Jeffro got to wittness me having a lay down on the job in exactly the same spot Huskybloke filled him in the day before  I had a few battles with Bigger Al which was memorable he certainly keeps you on your toes. Sorry about that puddle mate I did not put it there  We said our farewells and headed off. Once again very well done to all involved. This will be a hard ride to top. Thanks Boll for putting up with me in the ute! Cant wait to ride with you all soon!
