Will start with the formalities. Thanks to STM and Nickj for organising the best ride weekend ever. I had planed to go on the friday ride but work prevented it
. So Bollocks and I headed off 3 hours late, but we were both at fault. We got to the park just in time to see the shuttle bus going to the amble in.We threw our gear at the site and bolted to the bus. STM welcomed us all and and showed us where the bar was. The old Bull friendly manner was all around and it was great to put a face to the names met on the site. The rest was a blur :laugh:Bollocks put his 1973 tent up in about 30 seconds  Putting my tent up was a saga and Bollocks would occasionally help by getting another beer for himself and shouting a bit more advice  Soon it was morning and we headed out to hear the briefing. We headed off in our groups and averything was going fine till tha head count. Yep RC had been nocking the flora and fauna about. I got to ride the broken honda being towed by Jeffro’s tractor. It was great and was like riding an electric bike. It was bad that RC was out but it could have been much worse. We continued on and nickj led us on some brilliant slippery single and some faster flowing fun stuff. The two corner man was great as it kept the group together and made it more social. The rest of the ride was great, and we even had time for some bike mechanics class 101 led by T driver. He rebuilt krusty’s start button using rudimentry tools fasioned from bark and snot. Well done mate! It all ended at the beach and we had some of STM’s home brew which was very nice thanks again. We then hit the beach which was great but it felt kinda naughty
We got to the barbeque which was a ball. Factory phil’s valentino rossi rendition was gold, and he was hesitant at first but he nailed it. Very funny. The auction went like clockwork under Bolls control he did very well. NickJ and Jeffro were very generous and we all should thank them because their donations made up a fair part of the total. Tb showed us how to change a wheel very quickly and MC’d and helped make the night really fun. Boll hit the sack before his kids and left me in charge of looking after Boony  To be continued.Tech issues.Remember guys you only race for 2 hours if you cross the start finish just after the two hours is up. If you go past the start finish at 1:59 you go round again. If you are like me you will then have another 30 to 40 min of racing (or 1hr if at dirtbike teritory and it is raining) . You also do a sighting lap which takes 40 or so as well. If you are really keen after that put a vest on and sweep. If that is childs play go iron man you do the math. If you think that is easy try to lap 5min slower that Chris Thomas for the whole 2 and a bit hours. Sorry I have gone soft in my older age.
Yep this is just some of what we are up against.
Welcome to the site Bud. Yep get your bike license and regoed bike. One fine and you would have payed for it anyway. People say rent is dead money. Giving money to the gubbermet is worse.
Good Write up Roy. That is the first time I have seen horse power it sure looks like you need commitment. I have heard you need to be doing at least 80 at the bottom to have any chance? Nice to see a few guys do the same thing on header pipe as me. Who was that on the BMW I thought Jim had an 800? Or has he caught the bug again?
Gday Roy hey is Moree club running the Coolatai round any info. What is the go with the Tamworth club why have they given up on the series? What ever happened to Goanna tracks? Or have they not got over their development application woes yet?

Quote:It is a great idea and being Movember it is for a very good cause and one that is very relevant to all if us, except Shell :laugh:Beer at the beach on Saturday afternoon is no longer free. It is $1 a middy payable to the fast fill jug!
Nick and I put the final pieces of the route puzzle together yesterday and I can’t wait to show you all a great weekends riding in my backyard :woohoo:STM
Hey Scott seeing it is going to charity $2 pots is still cheap piss! Don’t sell yourself short. Or $1 for the beer and a dollar for each time you swear when you have that beer. I think $2 pots will be cheaper  I’m not a cane toad it just sounds better! than $2 middies
A fast fill full of money  Now all we have to find is a bike that runs on straight cash  Keeps Taking Money  Just kidding. Bloody great Idea. If that thing gets full of coin it would weigh a ton.
People say they are riding illegaly on their own property. What is the story with this is it the noise that is illegal or what? What is the difference with a bike to a ride on mower?

I did not detect any “I would like to do that one day” in your post boony. That Drz is only bullet proof if you maintain it
I would take sutto up on that demo. There is nothing like a demo to try before you fork out your hard earned. IMO the KTM530 looks the best. And there is nothing like a bike that will wheel stand easily in top.
I have had the speed wobbles on loose trucks and have lost a lot of skin at much slower speeds than that. The police probably saved them from a trip to the hospital. Would have cost heaps more. That is quick though. I wonder if they had helmets on.?
Both great bikes just get ready for an increase in maintenance if you have stepped off an XR600. As you have not filled in your location i cannot recommend a good local dealer for you to check them out. But Sutto’s would be a good start. Man that’s a safe answer
Those pins sound like a good idea for measuring. Crazy that we should need them (Yamaha  ) but whatever gets the job done. Would be good to see the pics.
That is interesting to know stuart I will check mine now. I have noticed a nasty chatter while under hard acceleration in the chain on the wr of late. A quick side to side action. When I first noticed it I stoped and realised I had tightened th axle on the right side with the block away from the bolt. I moved it and it reduced it significantly. I will measure it and straighten to see if it helps. Thanks mate! But what if they are wrong can you buy new ones or take to them with the die grinder?
