Good to know the reason is legit although maybe we could do that video as a race between mick on the snails and TB on the Bolts when w go to Coffs. That would make for great watchig while drinking! Then and only then will I believe that they are quicker. The last time I took my rear wheel off (to change the front sprocket) was the first time I have done without undoing the bolts. Only because a bloke said it was faster. I could not get all the blocks back in by myself so I needed some help. So yes that video would be of use to me.
The bolt type certainly looks more like what you would see on a factory bike. I hope we are not just using them because they look cool. If I thought that way with everthing I would have to remove my head. Somebody has got to come up with a good reason why we have to get 3 tools out to adjust the chain and do up the axle. I can see it coming in the future when a bike comes back out with them and they tell us that it has an all new better system “the snail cam”.

There is a magic method Krusty it is when you step off your bike at the end of the ride and say the chain tension is a bit out. When you go for the the next ride you realise that the elves have adjusted it for you. Maybe we could organise some “pay it forward” scheem or random acts of kindness! But all for you and me Krusty now that would be magic!
Hey Krusty. The owners manual on my Yammy tells you to measure from a allen key headed bolt on front slide chain guard on top and front of the swing arm. It from memory is 50 or so mm. Regardless of how you or suzuki do it one sugestion shown to me once is this. Firsly get the chain to the correct tension. Then pick up the chain right next to the plastic guard that protects the rear shock from roost. Then while you have the chain pulled up put a “V” mark on the guard right in line with the chain. Use this point to check tension from now on. You can mark the top or the bottom of the chain as long as you keep checking it in the same spot next time. Always make sure you have the rear suspension unloaded or this can create differences in chain length. From reading on here in the past it seems it is better to have a slightly looser chain than too tight. As this will stretch the chain when the swing arm moves to the point where the rear axle is in line with the swing arm bearing and the center of the front sprocket. Corect me if i am wrong on that last bit but when I push down on the rear suspension that is where the chain appears to be tightest. If you own a BMW 450x please disregard all of the above  Aaron.

Sh&%t hill Nundle Is certainly very long and steep with over your case ruts. The times i have been up it I have been pinned under the bike and have fallen off, fliped, boiled and also stalled many times. The point when you no longer have enough strength to pull the clutch in is amazing. When i did the bike slowly tractored up till vertical, then to stop it going right over I let it fall to its side but I then fell and sat right on the side of the bike like I meant it. Was that stuffed I had to sit for a while, which was good I was already doing just that. It is very hard and I have never got straight up it without some carnage but….. To me the hardest hills are such that if you are stopped for any reason you must go right back to the bottom. Eg Cat Hill Dirtbike Territory Said on a few occasions “Is that all you’ve got??!” And it is their second hardest hill. Watched some footage of Pork Chop once thanks to Boll on U tube. I thought that looks easy and then Bundyroy had a go. He is a far better rider than me. He did not do so well. So I took that as a big fat FAIL for me if I was there. So thanks mate for not making ME look like a fool on UTUBE!!!!! Have not seen a camera yet that will do a hill justice.
Loved the Stair case. But man the bridge was pure nuts, yes both of them . Was it worth the ticket yes. The police should let him off because that is art! People with that much skill should be allowed to ride where they want.
Hey STM I would like to involve myself in the riding and festivities on friday. There will be a continuous line of bikes from Coffs to Woolgoolga! Maybe we should call it the toy run. I will be joining the Crusty Bollocks Pep Circus.

Quote:I am currently running 14-48 gearing and get anywhere between, 100-120 kms to a tank (10 litres). It depends on who I am riding with and what sort of riding we are doing to how much I use. I will use more fuel riding with the likes of TB than I will riding with my son.
This gearing combination sees it revving its head off at 120kmh but is perfect for single trail and hill climbs as it pulls like a train. The standard gearing from memory was 15-41 and I got upwards of 150kms to a tank and it is claimed they will pull about 188kmh with that gearing (not much use in the bush).
Mick trains don’t wheel stand when you breathe on the throttle. I know I have ridden the Beast. I know this post has a serious side like “will I make it or not?” But it sounds like guys talking about the fuel consumption of sports cars. Who cares just enjoy the G forces created by your right wrist. I have one of the bigger tanks of the guys we ride with. What I do is. When everybody else is out of fuel you call this your “reserve” then make your way back to the nearest fuel supply.
Great Vid TB. I Got a set of what I thought were Pivot Pegz ages ago.I got them second hand because a guy tried them but could not get used to them on a MX track. They look sort of the same. But no writing on them. ?Mk1. I took mine off and greased them about 6mths ago. I put the same o rings back in.Yes they were not in top condition but they are still sort of working. But after watching this I will try to get some sort of kit to service them properly. The nut looked more lile a nylock nut not a specially knurled one.
Dude that looks alright for a quick fix very surprising. I will try my idea this weekend and see how it goes.
My daughter accidently nocked my YZ over when I was changing the oil. I was lucky because she could have been under it. I now Hold it up from both bars with tie downs from the shed. Aaaaanyyyway. I am going to take the staples off and take the cover in to the shoe repairing dude and put a patch on the inside with some glue. Yeah I could get a new cover but I like the black and silver one. This seat has a rough finish so I am hoping the repair wont be an I saw. If it looks crap I will chace down a pro circuit one I saw once. IMO I think the tape on the outside will look crap and wont work very well.

Quote:I saw on MXTV the other day that the Fro was quicker around the track on a DRZ250E than he was on the 390That is amazing Jeffro From what I heard the DRZ 250 was virtually a very capable ag bike. Could not have been too many big jumps etc. You would think it would bag out on the jumps and rhythm sections and be a pig unless it was very well set up. Still two years back a guy came third (as a team)in the horton ponyx on a CRF 230. Sorry back on the topic love the Husaberg 390 they just look so good. But have only seen two while out riding. Sorry Im not much help am I.
There is a stock route near where I live and people like me take their kids there to ride their bikes.I dont go there to ride myself only to take the little one for a ride. I take the WR so Im alright be the young bloke on his ttr50 is on the wrong side of the law so I guess they would fine me. I have packed the exhaust on the 50 with so much packing that it is whisper quiet. The bad things I see are thing is the crap people leave behind. Its not hard to carry your bottles back home in the car to the bin. The area has a house at the entrance end and people ride round and Fn round at the end where the house is. You cant help some people they will never think about how other people might get pissed off. FU jack Im ok. All they would have to do is go down one end and ride all the way back. They would only be heard at the house every 10 mins not every minute! That person who lives at the end could and probably does ring the police and complain, you know how the rest of the story goes. The place is closed off. Stupid pricks will ask why. They will still not understand. The story goes round and round. Stupid people are causing this and sadly you could be one of them. You probably are not though as you are concerned enough to be reading this. But your Kids could be or your not so thoughtful friends. So tell them to think about their actions as it affects us all. The same issues plague other groups like gun owners Jet ski etc.
A bit like the story of razor blades in chewy stuck on the side of the water slide. How often did it happen but the story went on and on. Im with you Menace I will be there in the angry mob, Shouting BURN HER, BURN HER!! WITCH!
