I have heard in the past car club people talking about that type of conditional rego. Drovers I think can get it to rego their quads to drive on the road side. Regardless of what anyone sayes about how right it is to do the right thing by the law. This insurance system is a scam. It would be interesting to see the numbers on collected premiums v insurance claim costs.

At the end of the day the insurance companies are a business. It is the aim of all businesses to MAKE money. Can’t do much about that.

Like stated by others I like full rego because of the freedom it allows on trail rides to transport if required on public roads.

Bit of a false statement in NSW. The trails are “public roads” as you call them.

On the no sticker thing I think all Australians need access to an app that will allow us to check if any vehicle is registered. Like for instance if you drive a company vehicle or tow a trailer. It would be nice to be able to see if you are legal??? Not just trust the boss. No info need be available just yes or no.

NSW RMS does have it… CLICK HERE RMS REGO CHECKER

When I said about “trails” I was comparing rec rego to full rego. Not no rego to full rego.

Point taken re insurance companies being a business. I could only imagine how bad things could be if no one insured for third party and the financial issues following a bad incident. So in essence it is a better situation to be in than how it would be for people in the third world for example.

Thank you for info on the rego checker. ;)

I dont understand why the rules change from state to state,it would be much easier if it was all the same.

Rec reg is perfect for the weekend warrior that might only use thier bike on weekends and dont use it to commute. You still get full insurance coverage in an accident.

Does NSW have club reg for classic cars and bikes that only have limited use?

Regardless of what anyone sayes about how right it is to do the right thing by the law. This insurance system is a scam. It would be interesting to see the numbers on collected premiums v insurance claim costs. I wonder if it is abused and a totally broken system like workers comp had become. ??? It is in the processs of a overhaul. I still believe single seat rego is the go and choice of at fault cover. That way we could all do the right thing but pay less for doing so. Like stated by others I like full rego because of the freedom it allows on trail rides to transport if required on public roads. Nick you should bring the 250 in August so we can compare the hot cams mod to the 300. The 450 looks great but bring the single machine. Pleeeeeaaaassseee :woohoo: PS nice shoes :silly:

Wow that is …… Interesting. would this mean these bikes would require new fork seals as a part of its preventative maintenance. ?? If they do what sort if interval ??i would suppose these seals would fail in adverse conditions so what is the worst case scenario (service life) At least if they leaked you would not have the problem with fork oil ruining front brake efficiency. No you would be pulled up way before that. In saying all that I have ridden one those things on an mx track and the front end was the best thing about them. IMO.

Well the thread title pretty well says it all. Will be interesting to see how they fit in and perform. On a similar line a couple of years back i bought after market indicators that looked virtually identical to wr Yamaha items. The problem was it took about an hour to fit the two rear ones after cutting and shutting the wires off the broken originals so they would reach far enough. In the end I said I don’t care about the price as my time was worth more to me. Even the young bloke behind the counter said they were no different. I did tell him what I thought of them next time I went in though. I hope for your sake your story will be different.

Watched this the other day on Facebook. A good story and nice to see a older CR taking it to the 4 bangers. He would probably have multiple offers of sponsorship now though. Good on him. B)

We run 15 amp fuses in our scraper aircon 24volt condenser fans and they are much bigger than anything you would see on a bike. Whenever they start blowing fuses the brushes are stuffed or they are totally cactus. So in my experience if something starts blowing fuses something is wrong with the motor. Like a bearing is on its way out or similar. Just so you know I’m no expert on this but I have replaced heaps of motors brushes etc for blown fuses like your having to.

I was battling simmo nearly all day ! When I pulled in after my last lap I seen him in the medical tent, I was meant to see what happened but I crashed out for at least 15-20 minutes in pain next to the ute. The shoulders and kidneys copped a flogging ! Hope the big fella is all good now

The doc said his shoulder was hanging out by 5cm. Simmons said every time he moved his arm he felt like he was getting electrocuted and his hand went purple. When I saw him Thursday night his shoulder was still all blown up. He must be one tough bloke cause he still went to work all week to put food on the table.
Once again well done to all of you. B)

Yeah that f truck doesn’t stand out much  what is planned to go between the cab and the headboard ??? Welder or something ???? Cool recount of events guys. Simmo from Tamworth dislocated his shoulder in ironman and had to do two more laps :pinch: then drove home to Tamworth to get his shoulder back in. He said the track was mad but.

If you have s look closely at the dog footprints you will imediately assume that they were made when the bike was not there  But when you look at those rims you realize that the dog was left alone with the bike and was trying to have its way with those sexy wheels. Well that’s what I wanted to do anyway when I saw them. And for a great price too. !! More than just a little bit jealous

    Not long to go now!!
But other than this project I have also taken on a circa 2000 KTM 60 for repair which first cab off the rank today I need to get an easy out to remove a broken stud from the kick starter. The bolt is moving but I can only get it to move in.
And last night me and Charlie adjusted the valves on the 426 and they are now in spec.
So I am glad not to have taken on the CRF as there is too many parts floating around in my garage at the moment. :pinch:
