Sounds like your in for a good lot of riding Rockdog.

We passed a group of 4 Safari guys on their GS’s on the Tony Kirby ride. I had a bit of a chat to them when i was doing cornerman duties.

Definately something i want to put on my ‘to do’ list. ;)

    Enjoy.

What a great weekend, it was good to meet up with a couple of the bulls and meet some new Adv riders. It is an awesome sight to be overtaken by those big Kato 990’s and 950’s and see how those blokes can handle them! Hats off. :woohoo:

A bit chilly on the first morning but we soon warmed up and got into it. :S

There was some awesome scenery around the Barrington and Barry station areas. Some of the best country to ride in i reckon(Sorry about the Beema in the way of the pretty scenery).

Some pretty tricky riding for me with the majority of it being like riding on marbles. My fear of water crossing has been somewhat overcome and i was disappointed to see the end of them.

Cock Rock was…um…interesting and i think we all left there feeling a little ‘insignificant’???

All in all i think we rode about 450Klm on the first day and there were no bike issues amongst the group. I can’t recall the names but there was one guy who came unstuck with a roo on the way in on Friday and smashed himself up pretty badly. Also another rider had an off and damaged some ribs which saw him pull out. I hope you guys recover quickly and get back on the bikes soon.

Big night on the Saturday with TB, Strucky, PTW and some others and Chris kept us all amused with his antics! ;)

Hopefully some money was raised to help go towards motor nurone disease and the formalities helped us to remember the major contribution Tony Kirby made to the sport.

Thanks to the organisers of the ride. I have already put it in the calender for next year.

    ;)

Remember you can tackle a croc up to 2.3mtrs…or is it 1.3mtrs. Oh well jump on the larger one and let me know

You know thats the same shack we stayed in in 2004 at Weipa.

Don’t get kicked off the bus on the mine tour… :pinch:

Lefty, you have done a great job ‘adving’ the Kato mate. Nice light bike, a few comfy mods good power to weight ratio. ;)

Will you be putting a set of adv panniers on the side? If so will you have to strengthen the shock mounts or sub frame?

Just curious how far the transformation is going to go?

    Keep the progress reports coming.
