    Hey rat,
Why not get the 465 or 490 IT???
I owned both in my youth. 👿 :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:
After getting my mate to ride my first bike home from the shop. (a big brand new DT175) Because I had never riden a bike in my life thus far.
Next bike was a big bore 2T
I do believe the 465 was a nastier bike, but the 490 had the suspension sorted. Suspension/tyres makes an average rider look better every time. (at least thats what I go on)
Looks like a good project, Rat. B)
    Cheers

Hey Murph, that was my first ‘new’ bike too…DT175 with the ‘air induction’ system ;) Use to park in the teachers car park and double my mates home with no helmets just to piss em off 👿 . Lunch time ciggy and passion pop runs  B) ..ahhh the memories you just bought back :)

Hi Cas, another BMW owner/rider. I think thats 2 in 2 days now :) Done much Adv on the Beema? If so what tyres you running. I’m just about to replace the Battle wing front but want something a little more dirt orientated with still a good black top feel.

    Enjoy the site and welcome.

Hi Rat – Great bike to do a resto on :) Looks like a money pit as all projects are :( I have a bloke up the road doing the same resto. Let me know if you need parts and i can ask. Always wanted an IT when i was young but couldn’t afford it…or handle it ;)

Can’t wait to see the finished product. :woohoo:

    Hi All,

My Name is Amy (Flying Fish).

I was recently recommended to check out this site and I was pleasantly surprised at how nice and supportive everyone is, so I have joined up and look forward to meeting and riding with you all.

I live in the Hunter Valley and am surrounded by great riding areas, which I have been exploring for the past few years. I am also keen to get to know other areas and gain more experience and meet other riders.

My current rides are a BMW GS800 and a WR250R.

I think I am free for the upcoming Birthday Weekend Ride, so I might be able to meet some of you there.

    Cheers,
    Amy

Hi there Flying Fish, good to see another fellow GS800 rider :) . How do you like the ride? Have you done much off road stuff on it?

    Welcome to the site.

Wow guys! Can’t say i’m surprised but i am impressed with the amount and quality of the gear going up for auction. I will be there for Friday night but will sadly miss the auction which i will assume is Saturday night :( . Might try the buy it now option ;)

Good on Old Bull for supporting worthy charities!!!! It’s one of the things that sets the OldBulls apart.

Eags, I’m in   . Just let me get the all clear for the day off. Should be okay.

Happy with the klms Eags…the beema was built for it(not sure about me though) ;) Might even have to fill the tank up with that loop ;) TB reckons there might be one spot that i will have to wimp out on cause i’m still running road tyres until they wear out – damn those Bridgestones wear well!

I’ll keep you posted but for now, i’m in. Can meet anywhere at anytime on the Friday if required.

Thought the causeway over Wheeney Ck might be the go, or as I have all day, a run to Bilpin like I did with Dejay :)
There`s plenty of time to plan ,,,,,

    Cheers

As you say Eags, plenty of time to plan. Did the Wisemans/Sackville/Colo/Bilpin/Putty run 2 weeks ago. Nice fast flowing section from the causeway at Colo up Mt Lagoon Rd – perfect for the 800 :woohoo: .

Looking forward to finally putting a face to some of the Old Bull names :cheer: .

I’ll try to dig up the photo. It’s on disc somewhere ;) You guys will have a ball. I am seriously jealous! I did it on a Kato 525 and the bike handled it well. TB did most of the organising. Co-incidently i found myself curled up next to TB in ‘Lovers Lane’ (true story)after driving from the Central Coast to Bundy overnight    .

    Great riding and memories forever.

I’ll prepare myself now for TB’s onslaught in advance.

Go on, laugh it up!

I am obviously getting old and letting my ambitions get in the way of my abilities…Years ago i would have eaten that hill up on one wheel on the kato and thrown roost all over you as you were picking the tractor up out of the mud:P ;) :P
