I might go and try some on to check the comfort level after reading the feedback in this thread though.
Ace, Ive got the Pod K700’s. When I bought them from Suttos I went in to buy the Cells but they just didn’t fit me right. Even the Pods I found I had to go one size up to their measurements as my knee wouldn’t fit between the hinges, it appears I have wide knees. I guess our knees are a bit like heads in helmets, we all have different shapes.
As for comfort I strap them down tight like TB suggest and they don’t move. I also make sure my top boot buckles are tight which also helps hold them in place. Once on I don’t notice that I have them at all.
I rode without them yesterday because I forgot to throw em in the car :pinch: . I felt very vulnerable and it was on my mind all day. My knees ended up getting sore on the insides from gripping the bike without the brace. Seems since having braces I have sub-consciously learnt to grip the bike tighter between my knees and now without the brace it begins to hurt.
I have crash tested them and they payed for themselves in one crash.
I have two dodgy knees from a couple simple incident where I didn’t even crash. Whatever you have to do, beg, borrow or steal I say get some braces of some sort before you regret it.
Thanks for the feedback Scotty and point taken.
I’m in. TB, please put me down for a set of pods – size tbc.
Yeah not far now. :woohoo:
Just have to pick up and fit new front sprocket over the weekend and I’m done.
I’ll be around on Wed as planned Eags. Still looking good on the work front.

Unreal isn’t it!
NRMA disappoint so often nowadays but they have me over a barrel with my bundle deal.
Time to shop around I think.

Sorry to be the party pooper but isn’t there a bigger issue than a traffic fine?
What are the legal repercussions if you have an accident with the unregoed trailer in tow and kill someone? I am sure that you are only allowed to take unregoed vehicles/plant to authorized inspection stations or repairers and not to old mates house for a few repairs on the weekend. I have had a bit to do with these things with heavy vehicle fleets.
This is no different to riding unregoed in the State forests and I know how most of us are against that!
I’m hearing you Ross. I’ve had some good Aussie adventures but do plan to go abroad asap.
We get out a bit with the site. Great crew. You should check out one of the navigation rides…great fun. :woohoo:
G’day mate. Wow! All those o/s adventures. Love to hear more details some time. Certainly something I will be looking to do in the future.
Welcome to the site.
Great report! Good to see the cold didn’t stop you. :S
A picture tells a thousand words doesn’t it. I am usually the one stopping every 5 mins for a photo. Just ask anyone I usually ride with.
That is sensational!! That helmet is going to pop when the clear hits it. A true talent you have there Mrs Squiggle.
Flying Fish wrote:Ace wrote:Same with 800 Beemer Mr Squiggle. A pain in the arse to change air filters. A set of uni filters coming soon. That filter is filthy mate. How long since it was changed?
Hi Ace,
I fitted a Uni Filter to my 800 and haven’t looked back. I have checked on the air filter a few times since and the pre filters do all the work, nothing seems to get to the main filter.
For the record you will need to trim the air intake tubes where the pre filters go on to. I was rather apprehensive about cutting the tubes, but it’s the only way and it’s really no biggy in the end.
Go with the Uni Filter, you want look back, they are great!!!
FF
Thanks Amy, I’ll prioritise them on the very long and growing list of needs and wants. :S
Did you replace the paper filter with the foam uni filter as well or just add the pre filter?
