Wiggles,
It will be the same as last ride. Cruisey
Although with Murph along you two could always go find a gnarly hill or two, he can find your limits :pinch:
Adam.
oldgirl wrote:That sounds like a good idea Adam cheers.Sunday is probably better for me too. If you’re bike’s back together by then (or if you can steal sams) I’ll be there.
What time to start?Anyone else want to come along?
9am if that’s OK with you as you have to travel I don’t
Adam.

Did that and yes it gave me another 11GB of free space but what I need to do is clear the disc space in the Power Director program, me thinks.
Cheers
MurphMurph,
I use version 11 however I noticed in the cyberlink/powerdirector/11 folder a folder called “ShadowEditFiles”. It had copies of videos that had been used for editing. Mine are no longer needed as I’ve deleted the original videos off the cards and made the movie (the copy I want).
Being a different version things may be different.
Adam.
Murph,
You need to run your “disk cleanup” programme.
Go to “Start” “All Programs” “Accessories” “System Tools” “Disk Cleanup”
This gives you a choice of what to delete off the hard disk in the way of superfluous files.
If your system is running slow you could run “Disc Defragmenter” as well. Run that one when your not busy on the computer.
Good luck
PS I ran it on mine and got 10GB of extra space.
Adam.
Oldgirl,
Could do another cruisey Ourimbah ride
It would have to be the Sunday.
I’m hoping I’ll have my bike back together by then :cheer:
If not there’s always Sam’s bike
Adam.

TB
I’d be interested in this TB
Do you mean numbers as in how many people are interested ?

Murph the surf wrote:Thats not good news Adam
Is it really up for those sorts of parts already?
Good luck with it, mate.
Do we still have Sam coming along?
Cheers
MurphThe chain was damaged by the stray washer.
At this stage Sam is still keen
Adam.
Murph I’m out
No cam chain available from KTM at the moment
They restrict your ability to source from anywhere you like and then don’t stock them at the only place you can 👿
Go figure
Adam.
Rach wrote:Sounds like you all had a top day out bummer I missed it, after riding Saturday and still recovering from the flu I thought that I would probably only end up holding you all up so pulled the pin.Decided to go on an easy ride with a friend instead … well ended up riding up Hitchcocks and down Whitemans …OMG I never want to hear those name again!”
On another note though …one of the things I enjoy about riding with Adam is you have the same bike .. so when something looks scary I watch you go up it and think .. ok same bike no probs! … looks like that wouldn’t have applied on this ride :woohoo: :woohoo:
A friend that took you up Hitchcocks and down Whitemans
They mustn’t like you much

I’m happy to teach you how to flip Rach
Don’t know about another demonstration though :pinch:
You should have come the pace was cruisey
Adam.
Trailboss wrote:Great report guys, looks like it was a good ride I haven’t ridden Ourimbah since I worked there years and years ago.Adam with this washer are you sure something else isn’t undone or loose etc because I struggle to believe a washer could have just sat there unmoving for 7000kms. I reckon it’s not the first time the bike as been upside down and I am sure the amount a dirt bike gets tossed around falls over and gets air it should have got tangled up in something inside the engine before now.
Is it possible it belongs behind a nut or hub or something from the previous repair and was sitting in the sump until upside down caused it to fall into the timing chain? I mean it’s happened very soon after that failure and repair, this makes sense to my mechanical thinking (not that it is the be all and end all  )
Just putting it out there is all, good luck with itTB
Don’t worry TB that crossed my mind too.
However apart from being a long and treacherous path to the other side of the engine, there were no washers in the starter / flywheel area other than a larger thrust washer which is still in place behind its circlip.
I took the timing chain out today and it has suffered a bit of damage so will be replaced. It’s stiff in the links that hit the washer and I’m guessing this is the new noise.
Adam.
Looked like a lot of fun boys
Can’t wait for the Mounting Bollocks ride   :pinch: :woohoo:
Adam.
Hey Murph,
Kato’s don’t like flips
You may want to check for stray washers
Adam.
Here’s a vid of the hill that led to my demise
Shame there were no cameras on me :pinch:

Adam.
Thanks guys for a fun ride
well while it lasted anyway  I was having a ball :woohoo:
Ollie pretty much covered the days events and my moment of “I’m not quite sure what happened” :pinch:
After the boys left I took the rocker cover off to look into what maybe the problem. I could rock the engine back and forth a bit but not round and round
Took the cams out and was just looking around and noticed something on top of the cam chain drive gear.
It appears that the resident stray washer that had been happily living in the engine took offence to my flipping of the bike and decided it would be funny to lodge itself in a position that would end the days enjoyment
Where did it came from  How long had it been there  I’ll never know

I couldn’t set the cam chain tensioner so I assumed the ratchet component suffered under the strain of the extra loading caused by the washer.
I had a manual tensioner from Sam’s bike on the shelf so a quick check on the web and they’re the same.
I got the bike back together this arvo and she started up fine however a bit rattly.
Given it’s been going round and round for a while now I guess its time for a freshen up and proper check of various components (especially those parts associated with the cam chain
)
