Nick,
It also puzzles me that they have no ODO reading.
Did they disconnect the ODO to hide the actual Km’s
Or are they slack with fixing things that break or come loose
At least with honest km’s and hours you can gauge what sort of riding they may have been doing :S

Thanks again for the advice on the suspension settings I have played with all the adjusters and am very happy with the bikes handling. I just need to adjust the rider and it will be sweet. The DRZ electrics never let me down as I did all the recommended ‘fixes’ when I got it. The kato’s electrics haven’t let me down either (near new it shouldn’t either), Sam seems to attract the electrical problems as it was his kato with the problem and his CRF250X let us down in the bush once too. :pinch:
I’m learning all the kato ‘fixes’ as I go
I was hoping Murph was going to be the guinea pig and do all the fault finding for the new injected kato’s not me
As for your suspension its worth the time and effort, every bike has its subtlies, and so does every rider

Lefty wrote:Yes gents,
I had a problem with both my switches on the Coffs ride. I was able to clean and repair the momentary contact switch on the left and it now works fine. However the main RHS switch still reads around the 170ohm mark even when completely stripped and cleaned. I think she might be farked. :blink:I had to give between the contacts a good rub / scratch with a small screwdriver to break the track that had been created  before the low resistance was broken, I had the meter connected to the plug wires whilst I cleaned so I could see when it was good

Nick,
The thing you’ll appreciate most is weight, the older you get the heavier your bike gets  and as I always enjoy sampling the soil on my rides  weight is an issue for me
I’m sure what ever you choose you’ll be happy with once you personalize it
The hard part is deciding which bike to personalize
Adam.
Nick what are you getting in its place ? Or after Coffs were you told to get rid of it.
Don’t know what happened to the attachments
They were there yesterday when I posted it up
I’ll see what I can do
Adam.

Sorry to hear about your problems on the Coffs ride.Though i will not have to worry about a filter in my fuel injection (carbies rule) i am interested in the kill switch problem.
Can you post up the issue and the fix?
Thanks,
Rebore.
Rebore, you too will become a believer
its only a matter of time
As for the switch, on Sam’s 250 it was the stop / start switch on the throttle side which was giving the problem
The tempory fix was to simply disconnect it where it plugs in behind the headlight but then you have to kick start it.
Lefty said both his kill switches were playing up. Not sure how he dealt with the clutch side one
Hopefully he’ll post up his fix
I’ll pull apart Sam’s switch and see what the issue was however a better quality switch may be the solution
King STM you really are KING
What a great weekend even with my bike issues I’d do it all again :woohoo:
Thanks to Nickj, Chris T and Biggeral for sweeping and all the behind the scenes crew who did their bit to make it a fantastic weekend
Also thanks to every Old Bull cause without there would be no rides, all offering to give a hand where necessary and taking the piss where necessary
The King was worried about the rain but as he found where really just big kids that love playing in the mud
Congratulations to Dude for his award, well done
$3000 raised, what an effort, really makes it worth while, and Old Bulls contributes to what the Black Dog Institute stands for without even trying to do it

King STM wrote:That was a shame to miss Saturday mate but I am glad you got to ride on Sunday in what was incredibly good conditions. Great news to hear that Coffs KTM nailed to problem off the bat and got you back in the game. I will drop by the shop this week and thank them for you.Cheers
STM
Thanks in advance for that King
I may have missed Saturdays trail ride but I had an absolute blast on the beach Saturday arvo testing the new filter :woohoo: :woohoo:
Whilst were on KTM problems, Lefty had an impromptu stop to his ride on Saturday and found it to be his kill switches
Luckily I spoke with him Saturday night about this as Sam’s 250 developed what turned out to be the same problem on Sundays ride  and when I caught up with Sam and sweep Nickj was able to go straight to this and disconnect the switch and all was good.
This is obviously a weak area on the katos and should be checked by all owners
Hopefully these are the only problems I find with my new stead
Adam.
Boony,
Try the two links below for Council roads too
Although the Coffs Council date is a bit behind  Maybe its good news and no roads are closed

I can’t imagine a little matter of a flooded road would stop you anyway when a rides on :woohoo:

Adam.
Murph,
I’m interested to hear how it goes, especially the fuel injection part
Better that you find and solve any problems than me
Hope all goes well
Adam.
Happy Birthday Ollie
Enjoy your feast out tonight
We’ll try and have a good time without you at Coffs
Adam.
Murph,
Do the bars have the same or similar offset position as your previous rides?
Worth a try
Adam.
Great ride report boys, well Gavb anyway
I’m guessing there is more to come from Lotsa yet
You guys sure know how to adventure
Adam.
