Flattery will get you everywhere
Adam.
Murph,
I read the data sheet for Devcon and it looks the goods
It does state for industrial use only
If anyone requires an industrial strength product its you
The ultimate Murphsberg is an industrial strength trail ride thats for sure
The worst that can happen is your seal will leak again, nothing ventured nothing gained :silly:

Yet another example of how good Old Bulls really is

Trailboss wrote:Adam this is only my thoughts at the moment and would be happy to be proven wrong but I personally aren’t convinced these tube less things are the go just yet mate. If you think about it 50 odd bikes there on the weekend and we had three flats with tubes, two with standard tubes (shouldn’t be on an enduro bike) and one heavy duty. There were two bikes with tubeless system and both got flats. My rear was an S12 soft with 8psi and an ultra heavy duty Michelin tube, now I reckon I hit the shit as hard as anyone there and combined with my sumo body style that’s a fair test.
I look forward to your future thoughts and how they work because I like the idea and appreciate your input. By the way they are easy to fix but not as easy as a tyre that hasn’t gone flat. Thanks again
TB
I agree the odds for the ride say alot. If you don’t try you’ll never know. I looked around the net a lot and couldn’t find any info that really gave any good feedback on the system but thought the idea had merit. I guess thats why NickJ posted this topic in the first place
Old Bulls is a great place to get real life experiences and opinions from people that ride in the same conditions and as with the birthday ride, plenty of riders too.
I guess time will tell as to the suitability of the system for our conditions. To this point they haven’t been difficult to live with.
I’m not sure when I got my puncture which is a pity because one of the stated features of the Tubliss system is being able to still ride with a flat.
Adam.
Well the Tubliss system got an extrordinary workout on the Old Bulls birthday ride
Both Sam’s and my tyres were set as normal, Sam’s Metzler 6 days front at 10psi and his Pirelli MX Extra rear at 8 -9psi, and my Perilli MX Extra front at 8psi and Dunlop D952 rear at 11psi.
There is no shortage of rocks at Sunny Corner, sharp ones at that. Chris72a said he personally chiselled each one, a busy man
Sam’s bike got a flat front, well actually it was Crash as he was riding it at the time, and as we had only just caught the whole groop back together after a flat (well one tyre two flats due to a pinched tube by those that will remain nameless  )
But as everyone wanted to know if the Tubliss system was all it’s literature makes it out to be the test was onWe attached a CO2 canister and squirted in some gas to find the hole, then inserted a plug with some glue, and put the rest of the canister in and presto fixed :woohoo: I was heaps faster than Crash when he repaired the other tyre twice, oops he was supposed to remain nameless
Crash made it back to the carpark with no dramas
When we got home and unloaded Sam noticed my front was flat  This morning I checked it out, found the hole and plugged it as well
We’ll see how the plugs hold up however I doubt Sam will be keeping his 6 days tyre as nearly half the side nobs are either torn or completely missing, they may be good for raceing but don’t last on rocky terrain
Adam.
Well another top Old Bulls weekend :woohoo:
They never dissapoint
And a big thankyou to all involved especially those that prepared and organized the weekend and made it run so smoothly
Sam and I woke to a frosty morning in Lithgow where we stayed overnight and put on our warm riding gear
I pitied the boys that slept in the carpark as everything they had was frozen :S We arrived to a flurry of activity at Capertee and got ready for the cold start, for me this meant ensuring my grip heaters were on and working
The riding was tops even the arvo grade 2, 2.5, 3ish was a hoot :woohoo: and I congratulate Sam13 on his efforts to keep up and try things that I’m sure he would not normally have done
Sunday morning we woke to balmy weather considering Saturdays start and had a fantastic ride on the grade 3 loop it was a hoot :woohoo: The ride back to Capertee was excellent as well, I’m sure TB put in all those singles because half the group kept opting for the easy options
I’m dissapointed Bigger Al didn’t have a camera for my over the hangers flop down one of the hard option hills, it would have looked good  I also can’t wait to see the photo of the Sunday morning pileup on one slippery hill
Again thankyou to all, a quick recovery to those that got injured and see you all next time
Adam.

Axel,
I saw Mal 5.1 use pepper in his radiator at last years Xmas ride on the Saturday morning. He had a small leak
Mal let the radiator cool a bit took the cap off and poured in a couple of sachets. Started engine and after a bit presto no leak
Lasted the rest of the day.
I don’t know how it works just that it does

If I do run solo would I be best to head out through rylston instead of heading down towards Sydney?
PTWIf you do run solo Pete I would suggest giong the Sydney way. There’s no phone service through Bylong and I imagine it would be fairly slow going from Denman to Rylstone.
On google maps it looks about the same distance.
Not much help am I?
I can’t remember how good the phone reception was but you can look up your carrier’s reception maps to ckeck
The road has improved greatly now. I drove through there after easter a year ago and it was tar the whole way
I also have a mate (yes and he’s the only one I have) who rode through there on a road bike earlier this year and said it was pretty good
Nice scenic route in daylight
But will be dark by the time you get there
Adam.
I fitted a set of Tubliss to Sam’s new KTM prior to the Ourimbah ride and ran into a problem
The rear bladder (little tube) that came in the kit had a fault
The valve stem to tube area leaked
I took a photo (see below) and emailed it to the Tubliss HQ on the Saturday and by Wednesday I had a reply from Head Office and a replacement bladder in the post from the Australian distributer
Now thats service
Anyways the front tyre being second hand leaked
however I read somewhere that the rimlock can indent the tyre wall making it hard to get a seal
So I read the kit instructions and it said if the tyre is damaged in the sealing area use a smear of silicone to fill the imperfections, let set for 24hrs and should be good to go
And it was :cheer:
So now we have two kits and will see how things go
We had no problems on the Ourimbah ride, well with tyres anyway
I had fitted a Pirelli MX extra to the front running at 8psi as recommended by Hatto and still 11psi rear, and Sam had 10psi in his Metzler 6 days front and 8 – 9psi in the new rear Perilli MX Extra
The bladder fault
