    hot2trot,

I haven’t come across any rednecks on a ride as yet but I do know a few rednecks

I know a greenie that had a redneck point a gun at her once though  Still not sure which side of the fence it sit on that one

Actually it was quite serious with the police involved etc :( Needless to say I do keep away from Toobys Crk Rd though :P

All the tracks lead to old log dumps and a couple of old snigging tracks, some go through the valleys and out the other side, but are getting overgrown, rutted, trees down etc and as half the State forest is now the Jilliby Conservation Area it gets no maintenance :( The fourbies get in and chew it up a bit too :(

Never sure to go fast and loud of slow and quiet through the archery area  As its a field archery area I figure we make a good target  But I do read and obey the sign that says keep to the track

We keep off the mountain bike singles ;) they put in a lot of work and get the shits if motos use them, besides there’s plenty of singles elseware if you know where to look :)

When you get board with Ourimbah its just a hop skip and jump up to the Watagans anyway :woohoo:

    G’day Sir Nick,

Welcome aboard. I bet your popular at Christmas  Hang on thats Saint Nick

I live in Ourimbah so always happy to go for a spin :)

There’s plenty of tracks in Ourimbah SF with easy or harder options, happy to show you what I know ;) (as limited as that may be) :P

I know another bloke who’s just getting back into dirt riding too so I’ll try and get something together ;)

I know Boulder and fish run unifilters but I was wondering what others have in their Drz and if their is a link to dusting their ?

I have 2 twin air filter which I rotate every ride. I had the valves checked at 9000km and all was good.

    Nick

I run a unifilter as well. When I clean the filters, even after a dusty ride, the inner filter is as clean as the day it was first put in ;) I have yet to see any dirt on it :)

Mine is a 2000 model so hopefully before the head problem being refered to

Good work TB I’m sure it will help many a nervous DRZ owner have the confidence to tackle a head job ;) :P

I’m looking forward to the reassembly

PS how is the barrel for wear?

    TB or Fish

How many k’s has the DRZ done? And Fish how often did you check the valve clearances?

I’m wanting to know if the maintenance schedule in the manual is sufficient, although I only recently re shimmed and that was at 18000 km.

No amenities mate it’s camping

Seriously though we need a couple of hot plates if some people want to bring a couple that would be great. The support drivers can take them from Capertee

Oh there is a nice flowing creek there a Adam :P

THERE IS NOTHING AT THE SITE, NO FOOD, NO FUEL NOTHING ONLY GROUND FOR YOUR TENT OR SWAG AND A RIVER

It is a good site but ;)

No worries TB just needed to know ;)

Will need to bring the battery powered hair dryer then

I’ll also study STM’s technique closely so as not to forget anything :P I like travelling lightly

    Adam.

PS I can bring along stuff if needed like hot plate etc, can also supply an 8 x 5 bogie axle trailer if you are short for the trip.

    Jim,

I read all the posts and I didn’t feel that you were personally attacking anyone directly, and I don’t know if anyone felt that you did.

I do agree we need to be careful with what we post in the public arena. ;)

We as riders don’t need to give other interest groups that aren’t in our favour any amunition for arguements on track closures.

Having said that alot of “single trail” is simply overgrown old tracks and roads that aren’t maintained anymore, however the appearance still isn’t necessarily good, and appearance matters.

It’s the sort of discussion that was had that makes people think about what we do. We don’t all have all the answers, however we all have some answers and combined we may have all the answers.

    My 2 cents worth.

Sam and I use a hairdryer on low heat high fan to dry off our filters.

Speeds up the drying time ;) but still leaves enough time for doing our makeup :P
