Please add me to the list TB. I’m in Vietnam at the moment and had some free time and a hotel with free wireless for my phone. What luck on the timing.

    G’day Losta,

I’ll be a starter tomorrow. Going out for lunch (also in Ourimbah) but don’t know what time yet so may have to peel off and head home if the heat doesn’t beat us first that is

Sam showed some interest but isn’t sure of his “other” plans yet.

    Holeshot,

A lense on Thumpertalk is about $22 and the whole assembly is less than $90.

How can Suzuki justify $495 ????

No wonder people shop overseas :(

I had my first opportunity as joint sweep on the second ride :)

By the time I got to the first corner man (x 2) I had lost my co sweep :(

Now I know DRZ’s are faster than TTR250’s however with a pilot like Factoryphill on board I thought there was no way I would loose him, but go figure, by the time we reached the next corner he was gone

Nowhere to be seen (for quite a while actually). TB eventually hunted him down :P

We had some fun until TezaH had a fall :( We got him out via a team effort and a 4WD. The resources of Old Bulls are limitless.

All was then good till pebble broke down :( We tried to fault find the electrics to no avail :(

So we decided to tow out wondering why no one came to see where we were.

When it was discovered that a there were a couple of blokes missing (several beers later) a recovery mission was launched ;)

3/4 of the way out towing a ute showed up :cheer: Boulder the owner (but not the rider) of the stricken DRZ and TB showed up (Bundy in hand) for the final recovery  and the last couple of km’s back to the pub.

Pebble did well that day   disabling two bikes

Needless to say when I offered my services as seweep on Sunday they were politely declined as I’m nothing but bad luck :P :P

PS had a GREAT time :) and thanks to all who made it most enjoyable.

Sam and I are travelling up Friday evening too. Couldn’t handle getting up at 4:30 to be there in time :(
We were wondering about an 8am breakfast as well, and being able to be ready in time for the ride. We would also be interested in an earlier breakfast :)

Looking forward to no dust and coolish weather :woohoo:

    Katgirl,

If you can ride Ourimbah SF then you’ll handle Hampton I’m sure. And if all else fails there will be plenty of people keen, willing, and some, even able to help :P

    Scotty you are also correct.

What the greenies forget though is that the graded two wheel drive road they drove in on to see where the MTB’s were riding at contributes ten fold to soil erosion every time it rains, and to keep it to a two wheel drive standard, every time it is graded. Again the greenies make alot of noise (no pun intended) and get heard. We also need to be heard making our own noises, other than what comes from our exhaust :P

I can only agree with what is being said. I also agree governments are slow to change and won’t adopt policy changes overnight. However if they aren’t pushed and prodded to make changes then they will never make changes. It’s an old saying but still stands true “The squeaky wheel gets the most oil”. I see this all the time in local community issues and it applies to trail riding as well. If we persue our cause and keep pushing for legislation favourable to us (as greenies do for themselves) then we will be able to carry on. Apethy will be what destroys us in the end.

Well done CJ the barstard (how did you ever come up with that name?) We vote and pollies need to know what WE think.

    Losta,

    Try -32.8635, 151.0674.

This spot come up on the topo map and also seems familiar, although it was about 12 years ago. I remember when entering the creek the water came over the bonnet of the landcruiser (momentarily) It may pay to have an alternative if its too deep

Congratulations Scotty, better than mowers I guess. While I have your attention give your spare parts / accessories department a rev up. I made an equiry about some zac speed parts a couple of weeks ago and never got a call back. If you hadn’t gotten your job there they wouldn’t have received anymore business from me. I’ll give them a second chance now.

What horrible things some of you guys endure 😆

I guess some of the preventative measures are what keep you keen

You can use silicone sealant or polyurethane sealant. I’ve used both as I have removed and replaced them. Simply a matter of what I had in the garage at the time. Put them on with as thick a coat as you can. The thicker the coat the thicker the cushion. Around 3mm seems to work for me :)

    Osmooian,

After doing what the other boys have suggested and if you have still no luck, check the alternator. I’ve had one fail. Check out Thumpertalk as well, they have some good tips on DRZ electrics.
