I picked up tim at 5 am and headed out on our 3 hour drive to menaces stomping ground. At 5.20 marty and john caught up and the convoy began.we rolled into Heyfield just after 7.30 and stopped at the servo for breakfast and fuel, john broke out the lamingtons and they didnt last long.At precisely 8 am we pulled up at menaces van to find him,XY,choppa and bill waiting for us around the fire.I think ranga was behind menaces van knocking the cap off he was that excited.Once geared up we had to wait for bill to get his euro trash started,i think it was scared being in the presence of my blue racing machine. choppa led us out and the pace was on right from the start.Riding around the edge of lake glenmaggie i had a few very scary moments,i will never get used to riding in sand.we stopped stopped at the foot of the hills and our supreme leader gave us the warning about the many whoopsies we were about to face, even tho warned you are never quite ready when you hit them.menace unleashed a tidle wave on me while over taking me, i have never been hit by so much water i thought i was gunna fall off my bike. around glenmaggie you are either going up or down monster hills it is just amazing and it would have to be one of the most beautifull places i have ridden. i did my first river crossing only to find that we were heading in the wrong direction and had to go back across again.there were heaps of creek crossings with just enough water in them to keep you wet.sammy once again out did herself wit a magnificent lunch,i cant thank you enough for your effort sammy. After lunch menaces bike let him down(euro trash) and he wasnt able to ride back with us.choppa once again led out and the pace was the quickest i ridden at. Once back on the sand the drag race began and the surprise was the speed of john, for his first time on sand he just gunned it. i cant remember having so much fun and cant wait to get back there. Once again thanks heaps menace and sammy.thanks choppa for leading us and thanks to Tim,marty and john for coming down with me.
menace whens the next one ?One of the best days ive had on my bike.Glenmaggie is the best place ive ever ridden.the tracks and scenery are second to none.after 173klms in the saddle im even to sore to type
I have just returned from menace`s comeback ride and the boy came thru with flying colors, but we cant say the same for his euro trash bike.i have been up since 4.30am so im off to bed.more tomorrow.
i have just returned from supermarket with my jacklinks (original and bbq) and a packet of sour snakes.Im all set :woohoo:
I am just about to head out to the shed to load up.First thing i check will be the heated grips  we will be leaving here around 5am menace so when we get there i expect a nice fire and a hot coffee to be waiting for me.see you in the morning boys.Im excited :woohoo:
Hey marty i notice your lurking around, why dont you talk to us ? Have you picked up your bike mate ?

I’d like to be on the bikes as early as possible Aido…
but in saying that, my mate Ranga will be up there friday lunch to test the soils for moisture content. there has been a lot of rain up there. i need to know how wet it is to plan. id really like to take you all to walhalla for lunch but it might be a little treacherous for us….me included,
via the planned route….
the lake is at 74.2% ( see here http://www.srw.com.au/storagelevel/gm_vol.png ) i dunno if we will be able to ride across it even, that might be our first mission
it also depends on who ends up coming. there may be people coming that i/we havent ridden with and may need to cater for their skill levels etc.
just like i did for you not so long ago mate
and now look at you ‘blue racer man’
you are a machine
i reckon at my caravan at 8am, allow for hangovers and stragglers and off at 9am. meet Sammy and Cheryl for lunch about 1pm and back home somewhere between 4pm and dusk…or so
