I wouldnt buy a bike without a magic button.I have only had to kick my WR once and that was on the kenda rally this year. Both bike and rider were cold and didnt want to start

Quote:Menace I have an issue with being able to ride a rec rego bike into town and there being some unwritten law that if your not being a dickhead you will be left alone. I can see the reasoning for this but the major problem is the bike are now uninsured, might as well be on an unregistered bike. If you run into and injure somebody who is going to pay there medical bills. This is personally why I hate unregistered bikes and a bike with rec rego riding where it shouldn’t is no better, the rec rego is all about insurance. As for unregistered bikes. The majority of them I come across have unlicenced riders. Getting the bikes rec regoed may be simple and cheap but getting a bike licence these days is a long expensive process. This is no doubt why so many ride unregistered bikes, to much effort to get a licence, why bother with rego.
Scotty if you rode a rec reg bike into town and were caught you would be booked. Its a very grey area that most of us dont really know exactly what you can do with rec reg, hence the reason i have full reg at nearly eight times the cost.At least i know i can go where ever i want. But if you were caught in town you are in trouble.

depending on..
final numbers, start time, rider capabilities, snow falls, river levels, sausage availabilities, bogong moth migrations, fuel limitations, my hangover, your nerves and how many of Daves 40 minute stories we are subjected to…
im gonna try for 150km.
if we do all of the last ride that we did up there….
it depends really on the weather. i wanna take yous down the ‘hill of death’, along the ‘river of doom track’ (that has already claimed 2 mortals), through ‘submarine crossing’, over the ‘yellow brick hill’ and along ‘hipbone road’ into the heratige listed town of walhalla for a wicked parma and a beer or 2.
on the way home we will cross the widest river you ever have crossed and stop in at an old quarry with some sick jumps and heaps of singles.its gotta be pretty dry to do that though, i dont want anymore meltdowns
so in a nutshell, i have no idea yet mate   [/quote
Sweet mate sounds good
Rec Reg is a joke down here tho,my brother just had rec reg put on his bike and the woman from vic roads didnt check to see if the lights were working or even start the thing up.he has no chain guard and no number plate light. He did fit a mirror tho.The only thing she asked him to do was sound the horn,he didnt even take the bike off the trailor. At the end of the day its just to easy to get rec reg down here.

I have just paid my rego here in vicco today.$420-20 breakdown of charges TAC $348.00 Reg fee $37-40 Insurance duty $34-80. Thats for full reg if i went for the rec reg it would be around $65.00.
