fork braces are the way to go,,,

but if you are lazy like me I use a device which you just push your bike into and it clamps on your foot pegs
no tie downs needed and you can padlock it to… so security is good. I put a u tube link up on another post not long ago but ill do it here too seen you are interested

I apologise if this has been covered in my absence, but I’m sure back in the old days when someone sent you a PM you got an email to let you know. I was on here the other day after a bit of a layoff only to find a PM from Buzz wanting to know some background info on a bike in my area. First I’d heard of it and by the time I replied he’d already bought the bike 6 months before. I thought that maybe I’d just missed the email and I apologised to Buzz for not getting back to him.

I sent a PM today and got a response but no email letting me know. Nothing in anti-spam. Is there some setting I need to turn on. I can’t seem to find it.

    Thanks

    Roy

I have this problem too bundyroy

    Thanks!

yeh boony is pretty good I’ve never got lost following him.

don’t know how you would attach him to the windscreen though…..lol..

To be serious though I would just stick to the old maps I wouldn’t trust a gps in the bush
ask people with local knowledge. Before setting out and double check on google maps/earth.thats my advice as a truck driver and what I do all the time

    Hi Andy,

If you connect the fuel line up to a carby that is already full it won’t flow as the needle will be closed against the seat due to the fuel bowl being full.
Loosen the 3mm Allen key screw on the bottom of the float bowl and let the fuel drain out of the carby. As this happens the float level will drop resulting in the needle dropping away from the seat. This will then allow fuel to flow from the tank to the carby.
Tighten the 3mm Allen key screw and the fuel flow should stop.

Give that a go, I hope it helps.

    Cheers,
    Left

yep done that worked thank you so much lefty fantastic mate!!! ill go ad get you a beer out of the fridge and drink it for ya……

I did the same with mine just before coming away. I used to hit reserve between 70 & 75km which is enough most times but I reckon I got back to the farm on fumes at the Bago Breakfast ride. I also took it up to Nundle at Easter and wasn’t game to explore too far for fear of getting a bit lost and running out of fuel.

I can’t say I noticed the extra weight with the bigger tank either.[/quote]

Cool jeffro. I haven’t filled it yet I only got it on this morning but I am looking forward to it ill have to wait a bit till I get a front brake line to test .. that’s y there is rag on the master cylinder to stop any leaks from dripping
    Cheers

ha ill never run out of fuel again, trying to keep up with snowy and boony around the bush… 15.5ltr its not too bulky as I thought it was going to be..

now I know “too much weight!!!” well I look at it this way I weigh 67kg soaked to the bone add two ltr water bag’ tools ect I should be about on par with everyone else ( no offence every one else)……………

maybe the extra weight will give me a bit more traction up those hills this will save damus picking my sorry ass up of the ground!!!! well that’s my theory!!!!

I do know I will never be pushing the wr back to the cars again well nearly back to the cars!!!!!!

eagle its one of those stands from that super cheap auto store… cheap and nasty but does the job!!!

    cheers

Well another cracker of a ride. A bit slippery in places, and yet again i seem to be spending more time laying next to me bike on the ground waiting for the sweep to come and pick me up and give some more great advice on how to get up the hard stuff!!!!!

( really my plan was to be letting everyone up ahead have a bit of a rest)

Thanks to snowy and boony for the lead

The new launch pad was a great spot….. Feel free to use it when ever you want fellas …. I look forward to the next one hopefully we can get back up there before the August ride for some more carnage ….I will be looking forward to seeing more footage from those little boxes stuck to the side of some of your heads ….

For me it will be back to the shop for some odds and ends to be fixed then I will be ready to go again …

Thanks again fellas for a great day

So what’s the plan Jan, would you like me to lead this ride until we get to snowys section and then after that bit I have an interesting and testing way to get back to nundle, the past few years have seen many riders asking for the main road home 3/4s of the way back on the old bulls ride, so I think I need to make the last 1/4 a bit more interesting to keep people keen. I am happy to help out Sunday, Andy if you wish.

wonderful that sounds great im just happy not to be riding alone for once !!!!!! I reckon we will work it out as it happens>>>> if you want to lead to snowys section that will be better than me doin it (ha ha) am I right to say that there is probably about 10 on this ride??its all good looks like great weather for it should be a great day>>> im ready for what ever you throw at me boony….

the only question I have is what pub at the end the peel in or dungown??? ha ha

ill wait for you at the gate way and show you in boze and dupe will be in there already we will be a couple of 100mtrs off the road in the paddock!!!!
