OK… been reading all the ‘boy’ banter and its put a smile on my dial.

    Here’s some advice from a girl’s perspective:

    1. Firstly it’s important for a relationship to have activities outside of your other half’s world. Everyone should have their ‘own’ time. It what makes the relationship interesting.
    2. You have to be true to your passion and not compromise it for anyone.
    3. Your passion should be a healthy one (if you know what I mean)
    4. You should understand/acknowledge your other half’s concerns and show how you can manage it as a win/win for both.

At the end of the day if she really loves you she will allow you to have your space to do your passion but always respect her concerns.

Kat.. (pay me later … ha ha)

good point…ya gotta look at it from her perspective!

Kat, I recommend regular maintenance of the wheel bearings, i.e. check bearings for condition and repack including replacing the seals.
Also pays to check the condition of the tyres including the spare, i.e. carcass condition and tread depth, and regularly check the tyre pressures.
You sometimes see trailers “dead” along the roadside because people don’t do simple preventative maintenance.
Ensure the coupling and safety chains are in “good nick” and lightly grease the coupling before use (wipe off the tow ball when finished otherwise you will get grease on your clothes).

We used “mr sheen” when we were preparing cars for motorshows and other special displays…it works well!

Thanks Riggs…I agree with everything you said…thanks mate :)

in reply to: Sydney Social Get Together #195299

YES Cathi…that’s exactly what I meant…a social get together for coffee, lunch and/or dinner…come on your own or include your partner…whatever you prefer…to have a chat about bikes and other stuff
    :)
I PM’ed Kat in the last week about this social event idea…even if we just have a handful of OBT’ers get together this time and maybe next time make it bigger…no stress either way…let’s organize something in Sydney asap.

Hey Nick…to answer your question, there are plenty of good rides between your location and the Armidale (New England) area…you could head up the old Grafton Road towards Ebor and then across to Armidale…or from Ebor/Wollombi you could head down the mountain towards Kempsey, it’s a good ride with lots of camping spots down the bottom along the Macleay River…regards Mick :)

in reply to: Nickj’s Tenere #195037

Hey nickj…you are welcome to leave your tenere tyres in my garage if you want to come to Sydney anytime…I used to live near Armidale in Northern NSW and still go back to see my parents on the farm regularly…regards Mick :)

Thanks TB…how does the new steering damper feel on the road? i.e. in general and compared to the old steering damper?
Also, what exactly do you mean when you say “…it needed a spacer between the rubber mounts and the bracket”? What did you use for the spacer? It looks like a black bracket of some sort…please excuse the ignorance lol.
Overall how much does it lift the bars if you didn’t already have bar raisers?
I agree the black steering damper does look great with the gold fat bars!

in reply to: A BIG ADVENTURE MOTO HELLO #194540

Welcome aboard Steve…it’s great to have Adventure Moto join the Old Bull Trailriders.
My best biggest and best purchase so far from Adventure Moto was The Great Basin Saddlebag by Giant Loop.
My partner gets nervous when she finds me looking at your website lol.

You may find that because you have the SW Motech crash bars the B&B radiator guard with not fit.

I was going to fit a B&B or Radguard however because I have the Hepco& Becker crash bars they would not fit because of the cross brace…you may have the same problem with the SW Motech cross brace.

in reply to: Yamaha Tenere XTZ660 10,000kms on #194505

The radiator guard was easy to make…just fiddly and time consuming making the manila folder card template.
The black alloy mesh was from Super Cheap Auto and the “pinch weld” rubber (with metal inside) was from Grippy Rubber Products at Silverwater.
The other materials I already had in my garage, i.e. sticky backed foam, vacuum hose & cable ties.
    :)
