My bike is an 09 so won’t be due for inspection until 2014 – I was told that the bike didn’t come with blinkers and I don’t have any and even if it did I would’ve taken them off until needed and I still expect that I’ll ring around and tell them I’m a dirt rider only please renew without blinkers etc. Now that I’ve smashed it I’m not going to spend the $100 or whatever to put another fragile redundant one on there so in 4 years time I’ll be set up for inspection.
Thanks for the help guys.
Here’s a distant look at the OEM switchblock which also shows the map switch which is the same as the ebay one I linked and I believe the KTMs also use it for their map switch.
p.s. Boony, KTM comes from Kronrief and Trunkenpolz were the builders and they were out of Mattieghoffen, Austria.
Believe it or not I was going to remove it because it was too clunky and mostly useless. Why have a blinker switch but no blinkers? This isn’t show and shine mate I’m all about fit for purpose. I might buy a couple and see if I can wire the headlight up too but what for? When do you ever need your headlight off when it off the stator only?
Ollie, do you have a link to where I can buy one from or know roughly what a bike shop charges? I know I paid $100 for the on/off starter switch block for my KTM when they replaced it.
Thanks
RIP
Pot calling kettle! Kettle where are you?!
It’s a 4 stroke 250 but 2 stroke 125 ollie. I spoke with them about it before I bought mine but I don’t think they’ll import any 250 4ts over unless you order it especially. At least that’s what they told me.
That would’ve been Moto – he confessed that he was on my tail for most of my lie downs which explains the bag of marbles he carries around :p
If you like that you would’ve loved the chorus of bike horns I got on the gorillas in the mist ride when my bike and I did a hippo flop into a deep puddle to cool off on from the drizzle
I’m onto it – just procured some blank dvds from work so I’ll be able to set it and forget it tonight then get them in the mail some time this week. I haven’t even watched them all yet, on saturday I stopped into the car wash and gave the bikes a quick spray then unloaded them at home and put the ute away and got kitted up for my mate’s 30th and walked across town then spent the next 8 hours rehydrating by way of bundaberg. Sunday was spent recovering
I’ll try not to hit it I think, better to ride down it next time
I went over the edge and slid down but luckily a nice rock caught my bike by the expansion chamber and stopped it from following me over. It was only Murph, smurph and I so I reckon it’d be a long job getting the bike back up if it went.
another vid
Yeah need to get my shit together first but I will keep doing it till I breeze it. Last ride I had a spill before this one and did a superman off the right edge of the ridge!
Here’s my super man effort! Watching back I think maybe I’ve come off the clutch a little with too much revs and it’s lifted the front into a drop washing it out and out to the right sending me over the left hand side of the bars but its just so frustrating to watch!
edit: the descent starts at 4:00 or so, the lead up is me bludging along trying to conserve energy knowing what I was coming up onto.
Enjoy! :silly:
A mate of mine’s riding buddy died this way mid way through 09. They took off from brisbane and about an hour into the ride they noticed old mate wasn’t sweeping anymore and turned around to come across the scene. Messed my mate up for quite a while
I have to take some of the wrap for Dude struggling in that vid. I accidentally led him astray and getting back on track was a little tricky especially in the heat. From memory we popped over a small log and then I came across another but thought the trail led to the right and Dude followed me. He did a bang up job of keeping that big bugger of a bike under control all day in that heat.
