Great ride and great company. Tim is obviously well versed in the murphsberg style and nothing seemed to bother him too much. The start was tragic but at least we got it fixed and still got going and I know better for next time.

I do take a long time to get ready :p I wear a lot of gear and I reckon I did a good job of justifying all of it today :D The ding in the pipe barely disappointed me murph and don’t bother feeling guilty that’s just ridiculous.

I had a great day and it could only have been made better by me being fitter! Back at it again tomorrow so I’ll cut this short and post up some more later.

Cheers Murph and smurph thanks for a great day.

I’ll have to plot the track for you murph but the run I do doesn’t cover any mesh hills. Here’s a link to a description of the loop that I typed up but it’s singles from pines heading east then singles either side of watagan forest road down to hitchcocks then down it and out to the road along the s/t and then back in a bit further down and winding up and down to prick hill then up tunks lane if I recall correctly! We’ll see how I go tomorrow though we might just do the singles then go down hitchcocks and back up it again and retrace our steps.

Just spoke to my mate and he’s keen to ride so I’ll be meeting him on cnr wyee rd and mandalong rd on the north side of the roundabout at 830am he’s a sook about his car so we’ll be parking at the bottom at the cricket oval/tennis courts on martinsville rd. That is unless I’m grumpy in the morning in which case I’ll be insisting he can ride by himself to the pines cos the bitumen ride up bores me.

I’ll send you my number again diddel. I pm’d moto too – I’d rather ride somewhere other than the watagans to be honest but given the alternative of sitting on my arse tomorrow waiting for someone to pull something definite together I’ll take the wattagans.

Noone is in. I might dawdle up there and see if there’s a crowd I can join I suppose :(

Allmech I’ve sent you my number could you please contact me to let me know about tomorrow.

So far noone has confirmed so it’s not looking good but I’m happy even if its just 2 of us up there and I’m waiting on a mate that was keen yesterday to text me back. I gave Chicken a call but he’s had something come up TB.

Unless someone pipes up that they really want to start early I’m going to drop the start time back to 8am – it doesn’t look like it’ll be hot and if there’s a small crew we should be done by midday.

It had belray in it and I mixed motorex in it today and it ran great.
    thanks for that guys

I dinged the chamber pretty good today but it doesn’t seem to have lost power.
Murph will post pics in the ride report.

another tip for 2 strokers is to make sure you dont stall the bike when its warming up – I did and it fouled the plug and we couldn’t start it and had to put a fresh plug in.

Great thanks for the tip. That means I can fill the jerry tomorrow and add 400ml of 2t oil and then just top the bike up otherwise I’d have to work out where I could dump this stuff.

Bloody festivities getting in the way of my bike prep time :p

Dropping the swing arm bolt out – never mind it wouldn’t matter I’d just take the top shock mount bolt off and pull the swing arm that way – wasn’t thinking straight.

TM comes with no plates afaik and I do know this one came with none. I bought a CF skid plate – figured I’d give it a go. It’s a well made little unit but the mounting system sucks cheesy balls :D

I’m sure you’ll understand if I wait till tomorrow to take some pics TB it’s 850 and I’m not done prepping for tomorrow and my hot assistant is smoking from the ears as well now so I best get on with the job!

I just dialled my suspension settings based on a tip I was given back the comp right off then wind on 3 clicks and back the rebound right off then wind on 17 clicks – same front and rear. We’ll see how that goes tomorrow. Now to drop it off my new stand and attach the plate and pack my gear and sort out fuel for tomorrow.

I’m not positive I’m going to be able to make it at this stage :(

I can’t get my engine mount bolts back in as per this thread.

So we’ll need a refill hey? Hmmm this 2 stroke business is interesting already! I really need to get myself a sealable measuring bottle for my pack! I might mark a mt franklin bottle with 50ml increments if I can sneak the measuring cup out of the kitchen with out the boss noticing! :p
